No, I think the G4 thing is that someone posting on Youtube actually caught that Spears chick with a pair of knickers on instead of around her ankles.

One of the good things is that I joined Blu-Ray.com. Yippee. Can I get a group hug or something?

Um, actually they do put out some news about HD formats. So, yeah it could be about something; however, it's highly unlikely as it would have probably already been reported.

I only became hopeful and changed my mind later last night when Penton-man seemed to have responded with what could have arguably had some vague indications / codified hints. I originally posted earlier on High Def Digest that I thought it was bogus, and those instincts prevailed.

Here's what good comes of this: we all know it's not a matter of "if" Warner goes exclusive to Blu-ray, it's more a matter of when. I'm prepared to stand by my original prediction of Q2 2008.

In the meantime, I'll continue to enjoy reading those Neilsen sales splits in favour of Blu-ray week-after-week-after-week. At some point, something's gotta give, and Warner has more than enough good reasons to tip the war, if not finish it, by going Blu-ray exclusive.

Blu-ray consumers have been very good to Warner.

This was me as well. P-Man was the one who sparked my interest in the situation and still does. He knows some stuff is in the works, just hasn't said anything.

I actually also learned that people are just ready for the format war to be over with. I've read many posts on other forums from HD-DVD supporters that when they read the post they were glad that this could be over soon.

Default no hoax

call me an idiot, but i still dont think its a hoax. bad timing got him banned.
i want that dudes email address.

bottom line is i can't rush to a judgment one way or another about someone i don't know especially with as much info as he divulged. and i'm not emotionally invested in this so i'm not sacrificing much by way of the intellect or even my time in choosing to believe what i read yesterday.

the way i see it - a 'troll' wouldn't have dedicated that much time in explaining specific and deep seeded reasoning for why it was going to go down. check his post history. read them. his reasoning all made perfect sense. a troll would have said something and let it roll...not jump in and try to address peoples concerns halfway through the way he did. i'm still hopeful that something is going on behind the scenes...sure it didn't happen today at 10am. you can't control the higher ups. but dude...its the BD freakin A. its panasonic, philips, sony, apple, on and on and on and on against toshiba, nec and microsoft? look at how well blu ray is doing! look at the state of this ridiculous format war thats keeping everyone arrested to the sidelines. tell me WB isn't aware of this? look at the technical superiority of Blu-Ray. tell me its not at all probable that something is happening? the BDA has too much pull. so burn me at the stake if you will, but i for one will keep living my life as if i didn't read a thing, but i will remain confident in SA0CD's message. and thats the word

Indeed there are some very good questions left unanswered as a result of all this. There are other posts in the original thread that raised some interesting questions, but in the end, I'm open to having another run, and I have no doubt the Blu-ray sales numbers will continue to do all the talking between now and the end of December.

This is the reason I said that the hoax had it's good points and also partially why I was hoping the Mods here wouldn't erase the thread...we got some interesting ideas in the post. Why this or why that...

Well, your flame is not out until Warner goes on record with a denial. I'm sure plenty are trying to reach them for an official comment. Again, I think it makes perfect sense for Warner to let Q4 play out. That way they've fairly put the HD DVD (or Blu-ray) fan base on notice that a decision towards one will in fact be made. I just don't think you'll hear it until Q2 08.

Very true. Most HD-Dud fans/users are incapable of using logic or making reasonable decisions let alone communicating them on an Internet forum.

They did after all buy into HD-DVD and that should speak volumes.

People believe what they want to believe. It sounded credible, and the reason it sounded credible was because the facts stated was based upon some truths. I still believe WB will go Blue, its is just a matter of time. To put a positive spin on it this hoax was probably more disruptive to Toshiba and Microsoft since it exposed how they are hanging on by a thread.

I personally believe that it also sounded credible because WE wanted it to be credible and true. We has a blu nation are guilty in this as well.

Because most of what Warner has released so far are exclusive Warner content OR content that their partners are also willing to replicate on BD/HD-DVD.

New Line, is the big little-studio, which has co-financing/distribution deals in most of their films. This means that they sometimes can't ensure that foreign distributors will get the same release date or even a release month! Hence why Hairspray and Rush Hour 3 will come out on DVD and BD first, because of region coding. Otherwise, New Line can be sued by the foreign distributors it has deals with.

As for the hoax, I hope all of you learned that "Slow news days/weeks are bad for you."

At some point from March 15-May 15 of next year, WB will choose a side...

Obviously, discussions are under way with both camps...
