i think so, or actually the TV series Jesus of Nazareth is my favorite (although its not a technical "film" for this thread)

Oh no I like Casino ,Goodfellas and Mask , but Midnight Express IMO stands above them all.

well according to wikapedia it definately is a film biography.

I wouldn't count Zodiac as a biopic, mainly because it's about an event or series of events. Although it follows one person through a period in his life, it's not really about his life. It's about the events of the Zodiac killings. The focus isn't on a person and how he got from some point in his life to some other point in his life.

Ali, Malcolm X, Gandhi, Milk, etc. are definitely biopics. Zodiac and All the President's Men? I don't think so, but it's up for interpretation. And if I may continue as the self-appointed police here, I don't think a documentary counts either.

Excellent choice.It has my number two spot after Lawrence of arabia.Don't particularly like this subject (It resembles 'based on a true story' too much for my liking).

I agree people are naming a ton of pics that aren't biopics.

Also I wonder how accurate is has to be to be considered a biopics as well? Most of these aren't very accurate. Then again I don't know if any movie based on reality is ever truly 100% accurate.

A couple of my favorites are Ali, Malcolm X, and Being John Malkovich.

Just kidding about that last one

I love your inclusion of Before Night Falls repete. What an excellent film. I actually chose Reinaldo Arenas as my poet to read at a poetry reading several weeks back. Btw, try to spot Johnny Depp in the film
