I'm a huge Spidey fan. Collected the comics when I was a kid.....from Amazing Spiderman #48 on up. I loved the first one. Could not believe they had put him on screen. I loved the second also. The third was good but a bit too campy and busy, but I still liked it.

I pre-ordered the Trilogy from Amazon. Only problem is my wife will make it a Christmas gift. I can wait!

You got to do what you got to do.

If you have the money to buy it, buy it for "the Team".

All films are flawed. Even the best of 'em. There are different levels on which you can appreciate a film. I watch Memoirs of a Geisha for the sets, lighting, costumes, dance sequence etc. not for the dramatic content or character development.

In fact, some of my most-watched films are not what I would call the "greatest" films overall. There are certain things about them that I like, that I can watch over and over. (Some of the "greats" are too intense to watch often, LOL.)

Different films do different things for a person. If the Spidey series "does enough" for you, go for it. It will help Blu-Ray sales.

I'm currently buying some Blu-Ray discs that I would consider "medium to low priority" on amazon's priority scale of "lowest, low, medium, high, highest" (or "must have at all costs"). I eagerly await more of the "highs" and "highest" to come out in Blu.

the first spiderman was just ok, 2nd was wonderful, and 3rd was great but could of been better if they spent like maybe 1 week or 2 longer making that movie but i loved it but its kind of funny that hardly anyone on here even talks about the Spiderman 2.1 version even though the box set does come with it

I say support the team! My kid is a big "Spideyman" fan so I was planning on buying the trilogy and since im a big Spiderman fan its a no brainer for me. Only thing that worries me is my kid trying to take over my PS3 when Spiderman is released.

From now on I am only buying movies that feel to me like they are absolutely must own movies. I don't give a rat's ass what the popular opinion is. Movies like Bad Boys 1+2 got torn to ribbons by critics and many casual movie goers, I freakin' love these movies and they will be day one purcahses for me on BD when they come out. I seen the first on dvd about 7 times and the second movie probably about 3-4 times on dvd not to mention three times in the theater. Those are the kinds of movies I want to buy.

The Spiderman movies are good IMO but definitely not must owns. I have the first two movies on dvd and only ever watched each one once from beginning to end. No way in hell am I spending another $100 to get the Spiderman set just cuz its in hi-def.

My recommendation is buy it if you truly want them otherwise do something better with your money.

Sam Raimi didnt care about doing a Venom movie and wasnt planning on it. All the early press releases were about Sandman, thats what Sam Raimi wanted, a movie about Sandman. The studio made him put Black Spider-man/Venom into the story because they knew the fans wanted it and they felt that people didnt care about Sandman. Unfortunately, forcing writers/directers to change THAT BIG OF A PART of what they want to do usually doesnt end up to well. Instead of a pretty good movie about Spiderman Vs. Sandman, we have a mediocre movie about Spiderman Sandman and Venom. Dont get me wrong I wanted to see Venom more than most people, but I would have prefered they just let Sam Raimi do it his way, after all he didnt let us down with the first two.

the only thing i didnt like about venom is that they never mentioned his name you just had to assume that was venom but what if i never watched spiderman before or read the comics back when i was a little kid i wouldnt have known who he was
