I've got kids to distract me while the movie is playing.

I personally almost never have even watched any of my favorite movies even with just the AUDIO commentary, so to have a little window with a dude/chick's face in it while I am watching a flick would annoy the hell out of me. I think PiP is really way overrated, the feature just does not seem that appealing to me.

^^ yup Also people with plasma tv's, the little box could get burned in if they used the PIP to much. |

The point of PIP is to give the HD-DVD camp something to whine about with Blu-ray. I would venture to say 99% of HD-DVD watchers never use it. But they'll talk it up on all forums as this big deficiency with BD.
As soon as we have it...those sad bunch of losers will have nothing to talk about anymore. We're doing them a favor right now so they don't go bored out their minds. |

PIP is not important to me. To be honest, I never watch the special features at all anymore. I'm just interested in the movie itself.
I was a really late adopter to DVD itself, buying my first DVD player in 2002 (yes my 1st DVD player was purchased in 21st century) At first, the gag reels, bloopers, and other special feautures were interesting. But that only lasted for about six months. And I have never played the commentaries unless it was on accident. Since then I just watch and enjoy the movie. So what would be the point of PIP for me? To have something I could do a couple of times, say, "oh that's cool" and then forget completely about after novelty wears out....in other words there is no point for me |

It is quite pointless. If I am watching the ballgame on Hi-Def, one of the main reasons I purchased my XBR2 - I want to watch it in all it's 60" glory - not have it split screen or PiP.

PiP might be fun on video games i.e. seeing your teamates hud. You could see through their eyes as they get gunned down in a fps or something. I'm grasping at straws here for novel uses I'd care about.

The only reason I want PiP on Blu is to finally stop HD-DVD fans talk about it.
I will make sure it is disabled on my player. If I am ever curious to see that "making of" material, I can always go to extras. I especially hate the pop-up icons during the movie playback. Remember the "Angle" icon floating on your screen. I always made sure to deactivate that, I never found alternative angle shooting of particular value. When I watch a movie I do not want anything to distract me. |

The only extra features I ever use is watching extra documentaries or making of featurettes that come with movies... that's about it. Even deleted scenes I rarely bother with, since most of the time, you can REALLY see why they cut them out!

I agree. It is a pretty useless feature. I dont think the majority of people would actually care for it.
