I will probably wait until the Extended versions are released on Blu-ray. I already double dipped for the first film on DVD and already have the DVDs for each film as the Extended versions.

Because he used a camera to take the screenshots. Look closer and you can see the awesome PQ, especially in that Gollum shot

Hey guys, If I'm using PowerDVD 9 Ultra (HPTC is my BD player), how will it work If i have a 7.1 setup? Will my reciever split the extra channel between the two back speakers? thanks!

Thanks for clearing that up. I haven't seen it for over a year, awaiting its release on BD, and my memory is slipping.

I just watched them in (I think) January.

I usually go 3-7 months between viewings....but I can't wait for the blu-rays so I can see them again sooner than usual

I'm an LOTR fanatic; I watch the trilogy at least every three months.

I'm reconsidering waiting for the EE; I don't know if I can wait another year or two.

One of the guys from AVS is working on pulling some files from the TE dvd to match up with the blu-ray screenshots the other member posted.

Fellowship doesn't look fantastic, that's for sure.

It looks identical to the old existing HDTV version.

It's obvious they just re-used the old master.
