Taiwan Queens of Langkasuka (2008) Thai Historical Fantasy Action


Thai Film Journal Review

This was way better than expected historical fantasy epic from Thailand. I would guess that this was probably the most expensive Thai film ever. The historic costumes are sumptuous and martial arts scenes and underwater effects were well choreographed and shot. The PQ is real high def and excellent unlike all the other cheap Taiwan Blu-rays from BitWel/ShengChi that I got along with this. The audio sounds somewhat muffled at times but surrounds are very active and match the visual panorama very well. Very highly recommended.

Video: 1080p24 AVC encoded 2.35:1 (excellent)
Audio: Thai in LPCM 5.1 or DD 5.1
Subtitles: Optional traditional and simplified Chinese or English
Extras: Trailer for The Restless

BTW, Magnolia is releasing this in the US in May 11, 2010.
