They did

If you want Blu-ray on your computer, buy a PC. Barring some major deal being struck with Apple to finally allow FairPlay for managed copy, it's a solid 3-5 years away. Look what an ass Jobs is being about Flash and multiply.

1) Or boot your Mac into Windows...

2) Flash does indeed suck, and it should die if you know anything about programming or computers.

I am no longer holding my breath and waiting on Apple to add blu-ray to their Mac Book Pros. I have moved on.

I've never been much of an Apple fan, anyway. Their computers are laughably overpriced, considering that the only major difference between them and PCs these days is the operating system. I can build a PC with similar, or better specs, for cheaper than the equivalent cost of a Mac.

Apple's more about selling a particular image of a computer, rather than computers themselves. There is a subset of their market that legitimately want one to do serious work (whether music creation, video editing, etc... though these things can now be done just as well on a PC these days), but the vast majority of Apple's customers are moronic hipsters who want their products for the image they project; nothing more.

I'm a bit surprised they haven't adopted Blu-Ray yet, though. I suppose their customers should be happy, though... had they stuck a $120 Blu-Ray drive in the thing, the price probably would've been jacked up by $200-300.

BD on a laptop is a great thing, because you can take it wherever you are. But of course, you gotta put it on a decent external screen. I don't even watch dvds on my 13" macbook.
