Ummm...how "experimental" do they need to be? I would consider "A Clockwork Orange" experimental even though it's very popular and from a well-known artist. And if we're going to include Kubrick, we have to include Lynch whose Mulholland Dr. and Inland Empire is coming out soon and just came out in other countries respectively--a good sign they might be headed stateside. And then we should have the "Lynch of anime," Satoshi Kon's Paprika added to the mix. And another you may not have heard of Delicatessen from the same director as the aforementioned Amelia (though not quite as good).

I think you may be confusing Amelia with Amelie, but I love Delicatessen and hope it gets a great transfer when released later in the year (and I have double the sentiments re David Lynch and Mulholland Drive)

You're right, I meant Amelie.

More embarrassing however is the fact that I forgot to include Charlie Kaufman's bizarre Synecdoche, New York; Ebert named it the best film of the decade.

Slowly but surely can add a few more to the list:

Sigur Ros: Inni

and in the near future

La Jetee/Sans Soleil and A Hollis Frampton Odyssey both from Criterion.
