And also this is based on a highly acclaimed Broadway Musical. The subject matter just begs to be adapted by Tim Burton. But saying that I have never seen it so I don't know if I would like it or not, but apparently plenty of people did like the musical.

IMDB lists Dreamworks SKG as the distributor here in the USA, and Warner as the distributor in all other regions. If things stay as they are, it'll be HD DVD exclusive in the US, but dual format everywhere else.
