What I found so distracting in the second was that the ability to suspend disbelief was abandoned in the extreme so often that it took me out of the experience. In that way I found the third more of a return to the style of the first. I'd say in terms of suspension of disbelief it falls somewhere between the original and part II. I don't hate the second, I just find it to be the weakest of the three by a long shot IMHO. There are aspects that I find particularly good (where they re-visit the Enchantment Under the Sea Dance) but there are also many moments I find particularly cringe-worthy (the McFly family scenes for instance). I'll be picking up the trilogy when released and I too am hoping for a quality release with great picture quality. I don't really doubt that the sound will be good - Universal has never had problems there in my experience. This and Fox's Alien franchise are two of my favourites and I hope they each get the treatment they deserve in a release that we deserve. |

Yeah, it was just stuff that like that made it so stupid and distanced itself from the other two. I don't HATE the 2nd one by any means, but I don't really like it all that much and its kinda funny to see how far off Gale and Zemeckis when writing that script in interpretation of the future in 2015.

Jeff,
There's a thread started about new BDs already having scratches on them prior to purchase. I've noticed lately that I've gotten a few new ones with some scratches on them, some with fingerprints. Obviously a return can solve this problem, but what is causing these issues? Aren't the discs packed by machine? And if they're packed by a person, why in the world don't they wear gloves? I had gotten Dr. Zhivago a while back and it had at least 10 scratches on it. I don't understand how that disc can still get packed and shipped out. I don't get how a disc can get scratched 10 times and then get put in a case. Do all studios use different factories to pack the movies? In my case, whenever I get a damaged disc, it's usually from Paramount or Universal. I had a much bigger problem on DVDs. Seems like a few years ago, I had went through one stretch where every other movie I ordered, no matter where it came from, had 1 or 2 scratches on it. On the flip side, in 15+ years of buying CDs, I never once had a scratched disc. Last edited by Mr. Cinema; 06-29-2010 at 03:24 PM. |

I don't truly know if many people think the 2nd one is the best, its just from people who are my age who were in 2nd and 3rd grade when the 2nd one came out. Everyone I know who grew up watching it liked the 2nd one best. |

If someone like yourself weren't available to forward complaints, how would these places know there was an issue? Just by returned discs? Regarding the Elite style case, I must say they have improved their quality. I think I've only had 1 broken case from them this year. Last year, it was almost a weekly occurrence, especially on those 3-disc cases. But they seem to be more sturdy now. Last edited by Mr. Cinema; 06-29-2010 at 04:31 PM. |

Jeff and Bill have both told me not to worry. I trust Ridley and Cameron to make sure this doesn't happen.

![]() I took pictures first and was able to remove it without any damage to the disc, but I don't know if I can say the same for my PS3 which made a terrible grinding sound when I loaded the disc before seeing the sticker. |

Moratorium is a fact of life in video, and has been since the VHS days. Typically they'll come back 6-12 months later.

For games I can understand since they nowadays come with a lot of preorder bonuses, even if they are usually meaningless, but still they ARE there. |
