I saw part of it. Let's just say there's a reason why it premiered on SyFy.

Hey hey now. Syfy gives me my healthy dose of killer mutated animal movies.

I put this version of Children of the Corn as WORST MOVIE OF THE YEAR last year on my list. Absolutely worthless and horrible. And im not someone who has a hate for remakes. This was just a big bag of crap.

So... Best Buy exclusive on this for a while?

I may have missed the news, but this site shows the release is a month away and BB had it out on the shelf yesterday.

Terrible reviews online for this... I'll wait for netflix streaming...

Being a huge Children of the Corn fan, (NOT OF THE SEQUELS) I saw this the night it aired. This movie was one of the worst I have ever seen. It was suppose to be a remake of the original but damn it was so god awful! They replaced Linda Hamilton's character with some black girl who just complained and *****ed the whole time especially at the beginning of the freaking movie - if that was my girlfriend there wouldn't be any need for homicidal brainwashed religious freak kids to kill her I would have killed her myself and buried her in the damn corn field!

and OMFG they replaced Issac with some 6 year old whinny brat... WTF!

I'm assuming this is the one on sale at Best Buy? Glad I didn't pick it up, if so.

Both the original and the remake are on sale currently for $9.99 each. I try to avoid remakes whenever possible, and despite the less-than-stellar transfer to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the original that started it all, I may end up purchasing it. I'm not sure if it's the fault of the source material, but I was hoping that Anchor Bay would have cleaned it up a bit before they proceeded with the transfer, i.e. expected a result similar to The Evil Dead.

Hi, I just bought this & wanted to share an unusual issue that I've just had:

I clicked the link in the Blu Ray thread https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Child...Blu-ray/14742/ that sent me to Amazon USA to buy it from. It arrived today & instead of the remake its the 1984 version.

Is this something that happens often or was I just unlucky?

Looking at the feedback on the listing Amazon seems to have merged the 2 releases together & made a complete mess of it & I'm not the only person who got what they didn't order although some have ordered the 1984 & received the 2009.

Its the last one I need to complete the set & both Amazon UK & Ebay have the exact same listing errors so looks like I'm stuffed.

Did you buy direct from Amazon or through a third-party seller?

My advice would be to buy off of ebay or from a seller that has photos of the product. This is an old Anchor Bay/Starz release that hasn't been re-released and has long since been out of print. Getting a copy off of Amazon isn't impossible, but I'm going to assume you'd rather not waste your time with getting sent the wrong edition several times while hoping for this 2009 film.

It's a 3rd party fumble no doubt. Contact them and ask for a return/refund.

Being in the UK I'm limited to sellers that will ship here & there's not many of them however the seller was being promoted by Amazon with a sponsored discount & the item was brand new. Unfortunately there are only 3rd party sellers.

I tried ebay first & I bought it brand new from Rarewaves who's listing was as confused as the Amazon listing and they had the correct cover. I messaged them beforehand but they couldn't be bothered to reply so i bought it anyway. They also sent me the 1984 version. After starting a return they refunded me promptly & adjusted the cover on the listing to the 1984 version.

Being Region A locked this isn't a title that I've seen 2nd hand on ebay UK yet. It's in my saved searches so with luck it will come along eventually.

I've been looking into this a bit more today & it definitely looks like an Amazon cock up.

The item that's been sent to me twice now is this: https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Child...Blu-ray/25781/

If you click the buy from Amazon link in this thread it takes you to the same page that you get sent to from my previously posted 2009 remake link.

I found the right version 2nd hand on Ebay.com earlier & its now awaiting despatch.

Glad to hear you have a copy of the correct film on the way! Your post was enough to push me to finally pull the trigger on a DVD copy of Revelations which was the final title I needed to complete the series myself. I'd held off for years hoping for an eventual Blu Ray Release, but I found a copy for just over $8 today on ebay and decided what the heck.
