i like the idea of BW2 being kind of creative... its not like the original at all.. and some scenes were actually pretty creepy especially the little girl, behind the curtain at that hospital..
it was like the witch blamed them for the murders, and set them up..true evil is one that is not seen.. but felt
a solid film.. not the best.. and no where near as good as BWP but not the worst sequel

I wasn't expecting some cheesy killer in a mask. It's the Blair Witch, not a slasher flick haha.
I just wish that it went a bit more in depth with the Blair Witch haunting them and maybe them going around in that house for a little longer to add more suspense and tension.
I honestly think that some of the scenes where things are going bump in the night are done well, but I much prefer that type of stuff than just them screaming at each other for half the movie. I understand the character development and showing them descent into madness, but I honestly think they could of gone about it in a different way. It's very realistic to have them screaming, cussing, and getting mad at each other, but it just got old after a while.
Honestly, I didn't know enough about the two guys to really care about their arguments. I think their names are Josh and Mike, but can't clearly remember.
Heather's character had more depth and the audience got to learn much more about her, especially later on in the film.
All 3 of them are annoying, but I at least somewhat cared what happened to Heather later on, once she started opening up more about who she is.
I just wish there was more of the Blair Witch messing with their heads and more stuff going bump in the night. I didn't want to see her though, because part of what made it eerie was not ever seeing her.

I'm still debating on whether or not to go to Best Buy to buy this on Tuesday.
I'll definitely be getting Hard Candy, High Tension, and maybe Deep Blue Sea.
It's $7.99-$9.99 at Best Buy...

Any mention of Blair Witch 2 going to Blu-Ray? If I end up getting Blair Witch Project for really cheap on Blu-Ray, my OCD will kick in to need the sequel sitting next to it just to look good haha.

Oh. I just expected that it was a Tuesday haha. I'll be going Sunday for all these releases then.

Anyone hear of the Blair Witch 2 being released? I need it just to sit there and look pretty next to the first one, if I end up getting it.

No sign of Blair Witch 2 in the US yet, it may be released somewhere else though.

Do you think that it will be released in the US ever on Blu-Ray?

My guess is the only shot 2 has of ever getting an HD release in the US is if the first film just has insane sales and forces the studio that owns the movies to release the sequel.

We all know it won't have insane sales.

Lionsgate owns both Blair Witch 1 and 2. Knowing Lionsgate, they'll release it EVENTUALLY. They're usually pretty good with releasing smaller titles sooner or later.

An earlier post in the thread said it was region free.

I read the Bestbuy Canada weekly flyer and there's no mention of Blair Witch on blu-ray at all. Perhaps it might show up on sunday but I doubt it. Seems to be an american bestbuy exclusive.

PARANORMAL ACTIVITY was the movie that THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT should have been. Whereas "Paranormal" was scary and tense, "Blair Witch" was boring and oh so unscary.
Should it be released on Blu? Yes.
Will I buy it? No

Glad we all have our own opinions because I felt Paranormal Activity was the Showgirls of horror movies. It was horrible, not scary in the least, acting was awful...etc. Left nothing to the imagination which is what makes BWP shine. IT left tons to the imagination and it worked.

Probably, but my guess (and it's only a guess) is that they're holding back because of the proposed 3rd film, which is going to ignore the 2nd.

The sequel was not well-received, so I think Lionsgate would want to hold back on that until after the theatrical release of the new one...

also, what made blair witch so good was the media hype behind it and people thinking it was real...and being the first camcorder movie really...

if i saw it for the first time today after knowing its fake and this and that, it would be ok but this movie came out when i was a lil younger

Why is this movie including Open Water 1/2 so cheap?

Is it because the transfer is not going to look, or sound good?

Either way I'm getting it!

They still would of charged around $7.99, like they are for the Open Water 1 & 2 double feature.

Has nothing to do with the transfer. Lionsgate is releasing a bunch of titles from $7.99-$9.99, but only being sold at Best Buy starting this Sunday. I'm guessing it has to do with them just wanting people to pick it up and figuring, if they charge full price, people might just pass it by. Now that they're so cheap, more people will go for them. I'm still questionable on the transfer for The Blair Witch Project, no matter what the price is, or what studio came transferring it. The video won't be that great no matter what, but WILL be better than the DVD. The sound on the DVD had a few pops and scratches, my guess is that they'll clean that up. If they do a DTS-HD 5.1 track, it'll sound a bit better than the DVD, but it's not going to be ground-breaking. My guess is that it will be one of those "Better than the DVD, but not such a good Blu-Ray"-type transfer. Along with Open Water 1.
