Picked all of these up after work today. I'll be damned if I didn't open them up expecting the worst and got mint copies. No dings, dents, or scratches. I was very happy.

When I bought my copy of the 1st RE steelbook they only had 3 copies left. When I went back the other night they had restock all but RE Degeneration. So now I don't think anyone should have a problem getting a steelbook of the films, except for Degeneration that one seems kinda rare.

Now the only problem is that they just have to release Afterlife in the same style steelbook, or I wont feel like my collection is complete.

Say wal-mart placed a order a really big order say 25,000 to 35,000 and sold off extra to FS or the other way around ? I know its sounds weird but i would really like to know.lol I am very happy wal-mart has them and hopefully it will lead to them to carry more.

ahh, I would say Sony offered them to both companies. I know, having dealt with Wal-Mart on a vendor level, they would never share info or commit to a shared deal. They are a very secretive company.

I would speculate that it was Future Shop who would have approached the deal first with Sony, and Sony got Walmart US on-board.

The reason why I don't think it was Sony who initiated it is because I think if they got Walmart US to agree, they would have likely courted Walmart Canada, a much bigger retailer than Future Shop.

The Disney SteelBooks, the Resident Evil SteelBooks, the Disney IronPacks, Mexican CLASH OF THE TITANS -- the common thread here has always been Future Shop. How likely is it that Future Shop outbid Best Buy Canada, Walmart Canada, and Zellers each of these times?

This is not even mentioning Future Shop world exclusives like BOOK OF ELI, LORD OF THE RINGS Trilogy, NEW MOON, and (so far) PRINCE OF PERSIA.

I like the Future Shop packaging, plus I try to stay out of walmarks (that's what they call them around here).

The Future Shop set seems scarce compared to the walmarks.

Wal-Mart has 2500 stores in the US. Future Shop has 146 stores in Canada.

Wal-Mart doesn't "bid" on goods. They dictate pricing, terms, and conditions to vendors.

Sony sold a lot of these RE steelbooks to Wal-Mart and Future Shop.

I don't sell any part of my collection but I don't mind people selling rare editions. I'd prefer to own something more limited. I hunted these down and got at walmart the morning they launched.

Yes I do! The prices on ebay are outrageous. Are they still 15 where you are?
