I don't care about what the reviews say. I know what I have seen and played with my own eyes. Shall I cite examples? Madden 08, NCAA Football 08, Rainbow Six Vegas, Guitar Hero 3, NHL 2008, The Darkness, Ghost Recon: Advanced War 2, Virtua Fighter 4, Virtua Tennis, etc. ALL of these games are superior on the 360 in some form or fashion. They either look or play better (in some cases they look AND play better) than the PS3 versions or they have features that are missing on PS3 such as online play with Virtua Fighter and Virtua Tennis.

Games coming out late has been happening since the Atari 2600 and is by no means a PS3 issue. Take the new Grand Theft Auto coming to both systems as an example, it has been delayed on both consoles till the same date.
True, but we're not talking about other systems here. We're talking about the PS3. I don't care what's been delayed on other systems. I only care about PS3.

How could you not like the new PS3 ads?
The new ads are great. However I'm grading on overall performance for the entire year and 2 months of good advertising does not outweigh 10 months of poor advertising.

Default I grade it A+

IMHO...

Here are the reasons why PS3 deserves A+

1) I have been a huge computer gamer for years...I told myself 4-5 years ago that if console can make games look as good as PC games, I'd convert...I am a convert!
2) Blu-ray feature is top notch...picture/sound and ease of use...all of it is great...I still don't have a remote since the controller is all I need...
3) Wireless controller and no battery...come on, that's just too simple, yet too great...
4) When I have guests over, all they can say is how realistic the picture quality is on any game...
5) My four year old daughter loves to play Virtual Fighter...she thinks the racing games are played using real cars!!!
6) Price is cheap when considering what you get...Wi-Fi, Blu-ray capability, audio...etc etc...it's like a $20,000 Audi A8...

The more practical people will throw cons into the mix as they should...

But, complaints over lack of games etc is not fair...it will take time and the library will build up...the BRay conversions of movies is slow but steady...Gran Turismo and FFXIII will make PS3 skeptics quiver with guilt.

You really bought both versions of all those games, or do you know someone with another system who has the exact same games as you? That's odd.
Seems like a serious statistical improbability, but whatever.
I sold my second Xbox 360 (the 1st one broke), because I preferred the PS3 games. To each his own.
Something for people to consider regarding the Xbox 360:
http://360-gamer.com/xbox360hardwarefailureresults.asp
"Overall 4200 (66.70%) of submissions claim to have experienced Xbox 360 hardware failure"
"The 4200 submissions citing problems collectively claim a total of 6916 broken Xbox 360s"
http://blogs.guardian.co.uk/games/ar..._xbox_360.html
"pointing in particular to a survey by Xbox360 Gamer which found some people who'd had up to 7 faulty consoles."
For making the most problematic video game system ever I give Xbox 360 an F. I feel like a sucker for ever having bought one.
I give my PS3 an A-, for now. Once the second generation of games comes out I feel that grade will almost certainly improve.

I have 2 friends who have 360's and between them and I have played all of the games I cited. I stand by what I said, 3rd parties really need to step up their development on PS3 in 08 to ensure that their games are at LEAST on equal footing with the 360.

For making the most problematic piece of electronics ever known I give Xbox 360 an F. I feel like a sucker for ever having bought one.
Aaaaand if I were grading the 360 I would most certainly factor the hardware failure rate into it. However, as I have already said, I am grading the PS3 here, not the 360.

How can you blame the PS3 for a problem that is universal to all video game systems. It is the fault of the game developers not SCEA, yet you include it in your grading of the PS3?

I can't give it an A+ because of a couple small glitches. I think it came out a bit too early. I understand that it had to come out soon so that it could combat the sales of its competitors but I think its really not going to take off until next year. There are a couple of small issues with BD playback as well (no DTS-MA) but overall it is a great system. I bought a stand alone player as I wanted DTS-MA support but I just couldnt resist the PS3 for gaming. It is a sweet machine. I give it the A-

We'll be getting the 1.1 profile update before the end of the year and that will hopefully get us DTS-MA as well as Dolby True HD. I give it an A, the games are slowly coming out, but they are shaping up to be great. My main gripe is that you can't access the XMB without having to stop either playing a game or watching a movie. My only glitch is that sometimes the controller will get stuck for a few seconds, other than that I love my PS3 and look forward to Metal Gear Solid 4, Unreal Tournament 3, Final Fantasy XIII, etc, as well as the plethora of great BD titles.
