I am hopeful that this will be the case. Like Shin Ra said, I too am looking forward to what's in store for PS3. 08 should be mammoth for PS3 with Haze, Metal Gear 4, Gran Turismo 5, Little Big Planet, Home, Killzone 2, etc. If3rd party companies can truly get a grasp on the hardware and eliminate the cross platform problems, this will be huge. If it's true about developing for the Playstation 3 first and then porting down to 360, maybe this is what the companies will start doing.

Also, hopefully blu ray playback 1.1 will be released along with more updates for the online features we are all waiting for like in game XMB access, custom soundtracks, in game messaging, achievements, more plug in support for the browser, etc.

I fully expect to give Sony a better grade this time next year.

B for the first year due to lack of games using the power of the PS3

Someone else stated it but to build a gaming PC a video card is easily 500-600 dollars by itself. I actually started messing with Linux, very difficult OS at first but a complete computer system, blu-ray player and gaming system for 599(60 gb) was not a bad deal. They already have emulators in Linux for Nitendo games and it was only the first year.
