I have used Amazon France plenty of times and I don't speak a word of French. Login, password and your account info are shared between the Amazon-sites on both sides of the Atlantic and as has been said earlier the sites are identical so if you know your way around the US or UK site the French (as well as the German) site should be just as easy for you.

Exactly, all it takes is memorization of the "button" placement on Amazon.com or .co.uk (they are essentially identical), and Amazon.de and Amazon.fr ordering should be a breeze.
