"Come tomorrow, we get the next salvo fired in the HD DVD vs. Blu-ray saga when Universal Studios Home Entertainment lets loose the last leg of the Jason Bourne trilogy, "The Bourne Ultimatum" on HD DVD."

"Now, before you unleash your wrath on me, yes, Universal Studios is the other half of NBCUniversal [GE 37.25 0.22 (+0.59%) ] , so full disclosure here. But the fact that NBC and Universal and are partners doesn't color my handicapping of the ongoing format war that has consumers caught in the middle."

SURE Jim, no bias there!

"Blu-ray is seeing sales surge thanks to Sony's late-in-the-game PlaySstation 3 price cuts. "

"Take PS3 out of the mix and there isn't even a competition here."

SURE Jim, take out Toshiba and there isn't even a competition here.

What a tool.

Default Yes, please discount the PS3.

It doesn't count. It really, simply doesn't. It's just an attempt to skew facts.
HD-DVD is on the verge of winning and this whole "2-3 million PS3 owners" is just a ploy...a nasty marketing tactic. I really should not have bought a PS3...I think the HD-DVD camp is right and 2 million+ owners really IS a gimmick. I mean, I went and bought a $600 machine and didn't even KNOW it was a Blu-ray player. It's obvious that I didn't know that I didn't know until the HD-DVD camp told me that I didn't know. I'm so glad they informed me before I made a bigger mistake and went out and actually TRIED to buy Blu-ray discs for my "doesn't count statistically" Blu-ray player. Heck, I'm REALLY glad they told me when they did because I was about to go out and blow $$$ on an XBR5 or Kuro Elite to go along with it. I am such a moron.

I know what you're referring to but if he were really a tool he would at the very least be useful. I think moniker is placing to much value on this "writer".

I suppose the poll we really need to take, is how many of us who only own the PS3 would have purchased a stand alone bd player of equal value at the time we purchased the PS3 to play our movies? Provided the PS3 did not exist.
