Sticking around $25 for brand new release month Blu-rays make economic sense to me. Stating $10 is your threshold is just ludicrus. Do you grab handfulls for ketchup packs from McDonalds to make your own bottles to?
The $10 threshold is possible... but mostly when movies aren't "new" anymore or if you get them during black friday.

... or Boxing Day, or Halloween specials.

Name your sale, and there will be cheap BDs.

So I did go to Zellers today and I was able to pick up the holiday pack for $12.99!

Granted, I think this is a YMMV.

I went into the store and first had trouble finding the holiday pack. Zellers is pretty disorganized and they recently got a ton of cheap (read: $9.99 and less) BDs on cardboard racks littered around the Entertainment aisles.

When I did find it, I was expecting a double-sized package (width-wise). Instead it is in a DVD-sized package that is 2x thick.

I brought it to the cash where the young guy rang it up at $24.99. I pointed out the sale 'on pg 31 of the flyer'. He had a look and was kinda skeptical. "Are you sure this isn't for the DVD-only? Were there any other DVD-only packages?".

I shrugged my shoulders as if I didn't speak English.

He walked around and went straight to the New Release section. I had though this deal was dead.

However, to my surprise, they did not have any DVD-only editions. There was only the holiday pack, and the BD which had a BD, DVD, and DC included. So I asked him if I could have the 'other pack' for $12.99 at which point he smiled and flatly said, "No.".

Fortunately, the flyer also states that regular price for these advertised deals is also $24.99. So I guess he figured that he wasn't overstepping any bounds, and said that he would give me the holiday pack for $12.99 even though he doesn't think it was meant for the holiday pack.

So... I stand corrected. This deal is legit, but if you get a tight-ass at the cash, you could be out of luck because the flyer doesn't explicitly state that it is the holiday pack. If your store doesn't have any DVD-only copies, your case could be stronger, too.

All in all, it worked out even though my gf, after waiting for me in the car, saw me come back and said, "Doesn't this movie suck?"

Oh well, I'm off to McDonald's. Someone told me they have free ketchup there and I just washed my empty bottles!

Just to let you guys in a little rumor I heard. A friend of mine workds at FS and she said Boxing Day will be a blowout sale on some new release movies like Inception, Knight and Day perhaps it could be as low as $10-15 each. Also we can expect the usual older titles to be $5-10. Such titles like Fast Furious 4, Fight Club, Kingdom of Heaven, Prestige etc. Please don't quote me on this as I only heard rumors. I don't work there so I don't know.
