If you're a fan of the film, its worth it.
Apparently the PQ isnt anything fantastic but its still the best you'll probably see for a long time, as like you say the chances of a re-release is pretty slim. I own it and think the transfer looks pretty damn good. I've read criticism of the video quality but it's nowhere near as bad as they say it is. The way some people carry on, you'd think it's as bad as the most recent Predator release, which it isn't.
