Hey Kruger Industrial,
Let's start with 5, which are in my top 25, that you currently don't have: 1. Full Metal Jacket (1987)-Vietnam War film. Boot camp portion is wild. 2. 12 Angry Men (1957 original)-Hung Jury film, Great script. 3. The Sting (1973)-Con Artist film with Newman, Redford & Robert Shaw...'nuf said. 4. Talk Radio (1988)-Dallas radio shock jock attempting to go National. This is my favourite Oliver Stone film. 5. Taxi Driver (1976)-NYC cabbie (DeNiro) who is unstable at best. My favourite DeNiro role & Scorsese directed film. .....Enjoy! Last edited by filmnut5; 01-30-2011 at 08:45 PM. |

Saw this for the first time last night. Incredible movie. For a movie limited to one setting, it manages to be very engaging from start to end, thanks to a top-notch script and wonderful acting by the ensemble. I tend to dislike old classics because they feel outdated and highly regarded only for the ideas and techniques they started, but this one stands the test of time. Highly recommended. Hope they release it on blu someday.

Hey there filmnut and jvince.
I have only added movies to my wishlist that are currently available on Bluray. So Taxi driver definitely will be on the list once it's available and if pq is outstanding! Added Full Metal Jacket though. Last edited by KrugerIndustrial; 01-30-2011 at 10:06 PM. |

I don't blame you, I've been "spoiled" on the quality of 1080p myself. Still, it could be some time before we see classics like The Sting or 12 Angry Men on Blu, and the most recent DVD releases of each look extremely good even on my 47". Unless you're into blind buys, they're certainly worth a rental at the very least.

Kick-Ass (I thought this would suck and it ended up pretty good)
Despicable Me Prince of Persia (for all the crap reviews, I thought it would be awful) Zombieland Monsters Inc. Toy Story 3 Machete Inception Star Wars Saga Reservoir Dogs Kill Bill Vol.1 UNCUT Pulp Fiction Jackie Brown Killing Zoe Pet Sematary Police Academy Halloween (Original) Nightmare on Elm Street (Original) Airheads (Gotta have a guilty pleasure) Ghostbusters Anchorman Boyz N The Hood Commando Four Rooms Finding Nemo Uncle Buck Friday Clerks (obviously not all are on blu ray - but they're still awesome movies) Last edited by Steel Panther; 01-30-2011 at 10:41 PM. |

1. "The Treasure of the Sierra Madre"-Bogart at his best and Walter Huston (John's father) is outstanding in this. ![]() 2. Apollo 13"-True story which illustrates man's ability to overcome insurmountable odds. ![]() 3. "The Deer Hunter"-Christopher Walken's finest performance (IMO). The first of some Great Vietnam War films. ![]() |
