I would love for that to happen! But of course, I'm sure it won't.... I think we'll get the 5 & 6 Ultimate editions in the fall/winter of 2011 when part 2 comes out on DVD/Blu-ray, since the previous ultimate editions came out in the fall/winter along with the release of something Harry Potter related (1 & 2 with HBP DVD/Blu-Ray, and 3 & 4 with DH theatrical release). Then I think we'll get 7 parts 1 & 2 in the fall/winter of 2012, but hopefully sooner, like late spring/early summer, since all of the movies will be done with...

Or! I just thought that maybe 5 & 6 will be released when DH part 2 comes out in theaters in July, since 3 & 4 came out with part 1 in theaters. Then 7 p1 and p2 in summer 2012.... Hmmmm

Yeah, while I'd like for that to happen, it probably won't. At the same time, though, that makes me glad. A part of me is afraid that the sooner we get the Ultimate Editions of 5 and 6, the less of a chance they'll contain extended cuts. Someone really needs to ask David Yates or David Heyman about those. The fan uproar over the lack of ones for 3 and 4 was enough to get WB to issue a statement as to why we didn't get those. I can only imagine the sort of hell that'll break loose if 5, the one everyone agrees needs an extension the most, doesn't receive one.

Here is a link with the US cover art:http://www.snitchseeker.com/harry-po...-2011-a-79519/ The US blu-ray has the UK DVD cover, and the UK Blu-ray has the US DVD cover. Funny how they did the opposite of each other.

Of note is the fact that in the US the DVD will only come in a 1 disc version with only the deleted scenes. There will be no 2 disc dvd with special features. While the UK will get a 2 disc special edition DVD with the special features. The only way to get the special features (other than the deleted scenes) in the US is if you have a blu-ray player. I bet there will be some upset people over that.

Not too many, I imagine. If Inception can do over 60% on the week it's released, I'm sure Harry Potter can do similarly.

Where's the "collector's" edition or whatever though? The big release of it that they started with the earliest films like last year. Will they really not bother releasing the special edition of the seventh movie until they release the other ones first? Are they really so terrible as to invite people to buy this edition when there is a better edition on the horizon?

I'm waiting until the series is done myself. I'll pick up all 8 in their individual "collector's" editions or hopefully they'll just release a giant boxset with all 8 films and all special features and extras. But hopefully, that giant boxset will be something that will fit on my shelf, and not something like that castle case they've got in France or whatever.

Afro,

I do wonder if they'll release a boxset of the Ultimate Editions but in a much smaller box that contains all the disc instead of how they're released right now.

The content of the boxset probably won't changed. But, you did hit at something they might do.

It doesn't really make much sense to create an outer shell box for the Ultimate Editions as they are now. That thing would be huge sitting on anyone's shelf.

Maybe make them digibooks like 300, Exorcist & The Matrix etc? Keeping most of the sets the same but smaller.

Wonder if it would be better to wait for a 2-pack of both parts.

Waiting for the whole big box of the series.

Though I just saw this movie at the cheap show, it's the Fellowship of the Rings of the series, lots-o-walkin'

I heard the US Blu-ray will have a lenticular slip cover, like the Half-blood Prince had. Has this been confirmed?

I looking forward to this..didn't get a chance to see it in theaters. I guess I'll buy it and then double dip when the Ultimate edition comes out for it. From the picture of the UE's it seems like they are releasing Part 1 and 2 as their own individual UE.

Despite purchasing the Ultimate Editions, I'm too impatient to wait on the UE for this film (or Part 2). I'll gladly double dip on both. Besides, I need Part 1 for what'll be my final Harry Potter marathon (in preparation for a new theatrical release, that is. I'll still do a marathon once a year every July like I've been doing for a while, now).

Even though the amount of deleted footage for this film is light, I still hope it all gets incorporated when the UE's released. If not, I won't complain too loudly. Out of all seven films, this is the entry that's closest to perfection, in my opinion.

Every once in a while they will put out a movie on friday. It has happened with 2x of the twilight movies. Don't really think they have a reason for it. If they do I don't think it changes anything.

Actually they were released on a Saturday so that there could be a midnight release party for it. That's what they should've do for HP7 Part 1...

As with every new Harry Potter Blu Ray release, I'm going to exercise the patience of a thousand suns in order to wait for the inevitable box set... maybe.
