Damn, I remember when I did this. First time I'd ever seen it as on DVD. I think season 3 was just released, so seasons 1 & 2 were on sale - so I grabbed them, having absolutely no idea what the show was even about.

Loved it!

I lived by myself in a large echoey 4 bedroom house (large for a single bloke anyways) - and found myself watching a disc per night. I wouldn't start it until it was dark, and it really created the right atmosphere for getting right into the show.

Yup I can't watch it in the daylight it takes the fun away!
