It was a small computer repair shop in Sheffield. My dad took a pc of mine there for them to have a look at and noticed they did PS3 repairs. Took mine to see if they could do anything when I visited my parents and it was with them for no more than 2 hours. They probably did the reflow thing but for £40 it's not much more than it would cost me to do it myself buying the heat gun and such. Plus I didn't have the hassle

I now have a Slim with 160Gb.

I've DL'd my Killzone3 voucher stuff so that's all fine but my old hard drive is, for some reason, unreadable so I've lost everything from that but I'm not convinced I can load up my recent backup as I don't think the new Slim's drive is big enough.

At least I've got a working PS3 now

It's unreadable because you can't pop a drive to a PS3 without formatting it first (unless the drive already belongs to that PS3).

I got YLOD after about 150 hours gameplay of Demons Souls so i payed £70 and got Console Doctor to fix it because i wasnt starting Demons Souls over again

Actually, the KZ3 save file can be backed up this time. (Thank God)

The most recent update though, we now can back up files to an Online Storage. I wonder if this feature can be used for locked saved files???

Finally got "Completist" after the 4th attempt! Now I just need to do the co-op trophies, and the platinum is mine!

It's funny...I basically have 1 or 2 trophies left for 4 platinums (Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, Dead Space 2, Sly Cooper 3, Killzone 3), and basically just Create trophies for LBP2. I want to see if I can get 3 of those platinums in one day

Anyone want to help me boost the last 2 Assassin's Creed multiplayer trophies?

Hi All,

Drumroll please...

Tomorrow morning at 8.30am GMT the servers will be brought down for Server Maintenance.

We will be updating the matchmaking to make some improvements and there will also be some fixes for connectivity issues (server side).

After that Patch 1.04 will be rolled out as well! Link

This is 90% sure to happen, but we are waiting on some final testing results. If those fail, the patch might be postponed until Monday.

No, I mean when I put it into a caddy it can't be read by my laptop; even if it couldn't do anything with the data on it, it should at least show up and give me the choice to format it, but it doesn't show up at all.

When I bought that 320Gb drive I just put it into my PS3 and it formatted it, but when I put it into my new slim it didn't do anything, just reported an error that the system couldn't start.

Anyway, I got my most recent back up restored onto my new PS3 BUT... No Heavy Rain or Killzone 2 game saves?! I guess they didn't back up because they are protected? What an absolute bummer. Unless I can access the old hard drive I would appear to have completely lost these saves just because the dev didn't give backup/copy rights. Thanks a lot!

My KZ3 disc is still inside my old PS3 as I need to buy a specific screwdriver to get the lid off! I'll sort all that out tonight.

At least when I'm up and running again the new patch will be in place.
