And I agree, basketball was such a huge part of the show. They gave up on it a little too early.

I never understood the plot device of his HCM.

I've always considered the season 6 finale the series finale.

HCM was used to give them an excuse to give him a shot at living with Dan and also to force him away from basketball and into coaching/writing.

He would have strayed away from basketball when he finds out that he just wasn't good enough. It became evident by the second season that Nathan was by far the superior basketball player (it would have been really hard to CMM making it into the NBA as a 5'11' PG --assuming he makes the switch like Nathan).

He would have found his way into writing/coaching, regardless of his HCM.

Well he could've been a college player and still wrote at the same time. Nate wasn't THAT much better, Luke coached the guy up a bit early in the series and also beat him at that game to 11 by 1s. I do applaud Nate's resilience to pursue his career after the spine injury.

He was a pure jumpshooter who had no vertical at 5'11'. And I don't know, but by the second season Nathan was a lot better than he was.

Season 1 they were around the same.

Either way, all of that is trivial. It wouldn't make sense for CW not to have this show on blu ray. A lot of people have been waiting for this.
