Ok Donald sorry about that, those IC you found look like a great deal , for speaker cables you could look at Totem tress, entry level Kimber kables, entry level XLO HT-6 should all do amzing work with the Energy speakers.

BTW I heard the MA Platinum Series at the show in Montreal and it's one hell of a speaker.
lol... no, no bi-amping here...... I only have a AVR and I am already using 7.1, so I can't bi that way.

When I get into having amp's, I do plan to bi-amp at least the left & right for 2 channel.

The Platinum’s are nice, and I am expecting the new GX series to be the same as the current Platinum’s. I just don't know how the new Platinum’s will sound like or how much better they will go.

I'm almost done with the new setup. I went to Best Buy and returned my Pioneer Elite VSX 33 and 4 definitive pro monitor 800 surround speakers for a Pioneer Elite SC 37 and 4 Definitive Technology SR8040 bipolar speakers for front height and rear surround. I also have two Energy CF70s and a Energy CC-10 and a Klipsch SW-450 sub. My question is with this setup should I add another Klipsch SW-450 and if so the SC 37 is rated 7.1 but has two sub outputs, should I use the outputs or just get a y adapter? What would be the benefit of two of these subs?

first, congrats on the upgrade of the receiver and speakers. I would suggest that you get an eD A2-300 subwoofer instead of the Klipsch, here is the A2-300

http://www.edesignaudio.com/product_...roducts_id=407

Itll be a better sub, and slightly less expensive, unless youre getting a good discount.

2 subs will give you better response in the room

Thanks, yea I get it for $350 no tax from BB. I have enough reward zone points to get it for free too. So that's why I need to pick a sub from best buy. I still have time to return the klipsch and get something else if best buy has something that will fit my set up better. Let me know, Thanks.

Getting a second sub placement can become tricky I recommend you read on the sub placement.

Default Power Amp VS Stereo Amp

Currently using Marantz AVR 5005. In Pure Direct Mode, Bass is good but Mid and Trble are lost. In Stereo Mode with Audyssey, Mid and Treble are good but bass is lost.

Can someone please suggest Pre+Power Amp / Stereo Amp with RC50. Secondly while selecting Power Amp, what specs are to be considered? Generally they are 2000 w and so on which is very confusing.

Just had a demo at a local store. 1000w power amp + a mixer was sounding better than a 150w rms stereo amp.

I have heard 50 watts amps sound better than a xillion watts amps it's a matter of current not wattage.

watts= Voltage * Current

I am sure the 60 wpc Naim XS would power your Energy rc without braking a sweat, BTW the key is to audition, what I like may not be to your taste, do you have abudget in mind?

Oh Oliver... btw, the C1 Sigs that I heard the other day weren't on the Naim UniQute, they were being powered by the T+A R 2160 R stereo receiver. here you can look at it here.... I love T+A gear. I would buy them over naim or arcam... I can say that for sure.

I stay in India. So auditioning Behringer, Emo, Integra, Outlaw, Naim, etc. is xtremely difficult. Most of hi-fi stores would sell Marantz, Denon and NAD. I did audition brands like Ahuja, American Sound, Boss Audio, etc. which i am sure you must have not heard.

I would probably buy it without auditioning.

I would be importing it from US. So budget US $350-400. May be stretch a little.

By the way, i did not got watts= Voltage * Current. pls elaborate.

Thanks.

then I might suggest that you look at the NAD C316BEE integrated amp. or the C326BEE if you can afford the stretch.

Ok Here it is to measure the wattage, you need to multiply Ampere and Volts.

what you want to be the high number is the Ampere, 35 ampere * 2 volts = 70 watts

20 ampere * 6 volts =120 watts but the 70 watts with 35 ampere is likely to give you better results at drivng your RC

Manufacturers alway advertise Watts and again measused differently, you will see audiophile gear like Naim XS that cost over 2K drive 60 watts into 8 ohms but their sound is above and beyond anything you can find on an entry level Pioneer, HK, Yamaha it the 400$ price range.

Callas maybe the OP could look at 2 channel HK I mean you have seen the numbers they put out on HT mag

It shows 40 wpc rms. Will it drive rc50 at high volumes?

That would be an option......

The NAD may have low wpc, but they make great gear, the # of watts isn't always the most important. I recently read a review of the NAD I posted and it was very postive for an entry level Integrated amp. There are several other brands I can recommend, but Im not sure whats in your region. Cambridge Audio, Music Hall, Rega all make IAs that would be in your price range, most of them will only have 40-60 watts, but that will be plenty. Well, unless your room is really large.

The biggest thing is that if you really want to have it all, and power and musicallity, you need to up your budget. I think $1000 is really the real Entry level to high quality, high output Integrated amps/Stereo Amps.

here are some Integrated amps that you could look into to see if they have them in India, they are only 2-channel, but they should play music very well,
http://www.musicdirect.com/p-9852-mu...rated-amp.aspx
http://www.audioadvisor.com/prodinfo.asp?number=CA350A
http://www.audioadvisor.com/prodinfo...mber=NAC326BEE

however if you are using the receiver for both HT and Music, then you may want to compare the Marantz to Onkyo, Harman Kardon, NAD as other options.
