yeah because I go around breaking a whole bunch of discs at once....

a HD can fail...for no reason...especially when you use the amount of power that this sort of thing will require...

The point is, with drive, one effects all.

With disc, one doesn't ruin the rest.
Storing them so individually is a safe measure, but I imagine the cost ratio, considering capacity of a Hd and Bl disc must highly favour a hd.

Well said.

The day I can't actually own a physical copy of the movie is the day I stop buying period. The thought of downloads does nothing for me. I live about 90miles west of Chicago. I have broadband but the though of downloading a 2 hour movie in HD would be like having dial up again.
Yeah, yeah I know "its the future". Whatever if M$ says it enough it must be true.

So having all files gone at one time is a safe measure now huh?

And why do you keep saying Bl disc? We Blu fans here call it BD.

It's funny, everything Michael Bay said so far has come remarkably true. Right down to Microsoft's swift kick to the nuts to dud and renewed push on downloads in the wake of a victor.

Too bad downloads can never succeed in the North American broadband structure at this time.

you imagine?....all of your points are based on speculation of something that isn't even here yet...

I won't try to bash you anymore...but you clearly come off as another one of those MS paid shills...

especially when arguing points that can't be backed up right now...

of course a HD is bigger...but you'll have to expand it after a couple of high def movies...and then expand again...and expand again and buy more movies and spend more money for the line to be able to transfer such capacity in such a short amount of time..

you're leaving out all the important stuff...

for Blu-ray...I buy a player and a movie...that's it...

for downloads....I need a fast enough connection speed....I need enough HD space for the amount of movies I want...and then I have to pay for the download....

see what I am saying?...

People say books are dead when computer came out, guess what, books are still here.

People say CDs are dead when mp3 came out, guess what, CDs are still alive and well.

Well I just hooked up my Comcast HD DVR box last night and all I can say is that they have some serious work to do. I thought the high def channels I was receiving before installing this box looked a lot better. Neither was as clear and crisp as my Blu ray movies in 1080p.

As someone else stated here in this thread (Mysticsuicide I believe), who cares what MSN says...they are Microsoft! What else would they say!

HD on Comcast is nowhere near Blu-ray...

however I find the older Star Wars movies in HD fine for me on my DVR until Blu releases these movies...

the BDA should throw Lucas some money to release these movies on Blu after the war is over so the Blu adoption would pick up faster...

I remember Mark Hamill saying once that as a collector he likes to actually see his stuff on the shelf.

I think it's part of the point for people to feel like they own an actual copy.
