Thanks. I must be in the minority who liked the Ledger version ok. I've heard the 1939 is much better though, so I might wind up blind buying it.

my copy should be here today. the caps on dvdbeaver look fantastic. I can't get enough 3 strip Technicolor bds. they are some of the best for sure.
imo this bd should be in everyone's collection right next to the other great films of 1939--the year many critics call the best year ever in cinema's history.
it's really hard to argue against that contention imo.

Thanks. I've always read that it was a great film. Just might have to blind buy it. I checked those pics out, and it looks pretty good for such an old film. The scenery looked great.

or in my case, sleep inducing. So is the original a good blind buy then (the H. Ledger version put a damper on me seeing the original)

I've never seen the original. If it can be had for around $15 I might just blind buy it.
