Did the same thing. BB was doing a free pair of 3050's with the tv and I was able to switch them for the 3100's.
Love the glasses.
And yes you need your tv on and in 3D for your glasses to turn on. You'll have to synchronize them first which is just a push of the power button.
You Must go buy Beauty and the Beast 3D for one of your first viewing movies on it.

Agreed on Beauty and the Beast... One of the best 3D Blu I have enjoyed.

Tangled also is awesome. A lot of the 3D blus are great actually.

I finally got the TV and both the glasses work. The 3D picture quality is excellent for the price. I have Tron and Lion King. Im kinda disappointed with Tron because I discovered the movie is not all in 3D.

Im gonna skip Beauty in the Beast for now because I already have the 2D version though.

Recommend me a reference quality live action 3d movie, besides Avatar(I got a Panny BD player for that).

Its the Samsung UN40D6400 btw, Thanks everyone for the help.

Resident Evil:Afterlife is live action. (Well, mostly undead action.)

Some others I have Captain America, Thor, PotC: On Stranger Tides, Alice in Wonderland, Pirahna.

That Smurfs movie looks mostly live action.

Drive Angry is a kinda love-it-or-hate-it movie, but the 3D is excellent - natively shot by someone experienced in the field (Patrick Lussier, who previously did My Bloody Valentine 3D and is now slated for Halloween 3D), with great depth and tons of pop-outs.

As for live action to avoid, well, I'm sure you've heard the horror stories about Clash of the Titans and The Last Airbender. Neither directors Louis Leterrier and M. Night Shyamalan nor cinematographers Peter Menzies Jr. and Andrew Lesnie had any idea they were shooting a 3D movie, so composition wasn't done with the extra depth in mind and neither has pop-outs. To make matters worse, Prime Focus and Stereo-D, the conversion companies, were quite rushed to complete these conversions and got sloppy or lazy as a result.

Both have some scenes that look good in 3D, but also some that seem completely flat, and many depth errors - cardboard cutouts, etc. With the right expectations they can look nice in places, but it's probably not worth much extra. Plus The Last Airbender 3D release is barebones, as opposed to the 2D edition with a bunch of special features.
