Is The Rum Diary gonna fetch a big cult following like Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas did?

Well I am not canceling my order for The Rum Diary if I absolutely do not like it I can throw it on Ebay or trade it.
I might be wrong here but I have a gut feeling that those who really understand and appreciate Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, aka the biggest fans, will love this one too.

(I hope I am right.)

Well if you read the post before yours I changed my mind but if I did not change my mind then the answer to your question is that I would not "cancel a pre-order" just because it did bad at the box office. But if you read the reviews on this movie, overall most are not good so combine those with the poor box office numbers and it would probably be the most wise to rent this movie before buying it if you have never seen it.

This one really intrigued me too but never got around to seeing it. Will definitely think about picking it up.

not at all, its an enjoyable movie and definitly worth a watch, its not really good though.

saw it in the theater and enjoyed it. i dont feel the need to buy the BD, but id like to watch the movie again one day.

I've known her since she was a 15-yr old lifeguard back in Austin. I actually had her cast as the lead in my film when she was 17 but I lost my financing... oh well, lol.

Maybe it's for the best, since she does seem to curse every project she's stars in...

Saw it in the theater. Good movie, but there's a few shots where a boom mic can be seen. I hope they edit them out. It took me out of the scenes they were in.
