It's...okay, but to understand what box-office buttons Irwin Allen pushed in the 70's, you really have to start with "Towering Inferno". After that, you can appreciate how Poseidon invented all the classic tropes first.

Why the need for that particular smile? Clearly, they are only similar by subject matter.
