I SHALL BUY:

The Lion King 2
The Lion King 1.5
The Muppets

The Lion King 2 & 1.5 should have been converted to 3D. I hate when there's more than 1 2D movie, but only ONE of them gets converted.

I have no interest in Beverly Hills Chihuahua 3, don't even know why it exists to be honest. Secret of the Wings's promotional art looks pretty cool, I might look into that. Definitely picking up The Lion King II: Simba's Pride and The Lion King 1 1/2, as I have fond memories of the former. It's been a few years since I've last seen The Aristocats, might have to watch it again sometime in order to see if it's worth my money.

Still haven't gotten Bambi or Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas yet, so I'll have to hurry up before they get thrown into the vault, though I'm sure they'll still be in stores at least a couple of months after they officially go out of print, so that shouldn't be too much a rush. idk about Lady and the Tramp II: Scamp's Adventure.

The Muppets is a day one buy - really loved that movie in theaters. Never saw The Rescuers or The Rescuers Down Under, so I'm not really in a position to choose yet. The first Pocahontas is good and the sequel is okay, I guess, might snatch that. Cinderella and Aladdin will definitely find their ways into my collection.

I hope Disney releases more of their '90s and early '00s films. Would kill for The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Lilo & Stitch on Blu.

My guess with movies like Lilo, Brother Bear and - I don't wanna jynx it - Tarzan is that they'll release them as dual-movie packs. I'm beginning to feel ever since Fox and the Hound, that non-PlatinumDiamond editions of DVD/Blu-rays will be arriving with their cheapquels, only exception would be Lilo 2.

I honestly don't think so, some are trilogys, while eventually, I feel like Disney is going 2 notice that they aren't selling very well and stop selling them with there sequels.

And for those who didn't, well, so much for the "They'll probably announce the Original by the time the new one gets to disk" theory.
We gotta find out what's going on.

The expense of the 3D conversion isn't worth it for a cheapquel. Im surprised they are getting Blu-Ray releases at all

Am I the only one who likes Pocahontas 2?
But I have to admit, I hated the way they portrayed John Smith in the second film.

Even though I liked the second film, I would like they release both films seperately. I didn't care too much about how they went about it with The Fox and The Hound. Fell asleep watching the sequel anyway. If I want to own the sequel, I want it in a seperate package. If it's a film I don't care too about much, I don't mind if they release the film with its sequel in one package.

Has Disney announced yet that Pocahontas and Pocahontas 2 will have a seperate release?

Does anyone have any clue if the following titles have any hope of being released in the near future?

The Hunchback of Notre Dame
Hercules
Mulan
Tarzan
Lilo & Stitch

Thank you!

Tarzan is rumored, while other countrys have confirmed seperate pocahontas releases, and The rest on your list all could be a while. Though Mulan is OOP, so possibly next year with Aladdin.

I can't remember if I actually liked the plot but I really enjoyed two songs in the film. Where do I go from Here and Between Two Worlds were excellent songs and to me are the equal of many other great Disney songs.

The trashing of John Smith was horrible, but I guess that was the only way to make the John Rolfe thing work and be true to history. Too bad because the ending of Pocahontas where she says goodbye to John Smith is one of the most powerful endings in any Disney movie ever imo.

My question is if they messed up history why couldn't they have left it that way xD

Exactly. Not every "wrong" can be fixed by jerkifying characters.

As someone who didn't like the sequel, I'll have to disagree. I DO mind if a movie I like is packaged with a film I don't. However, I agree that i want separate releases so I can own just Pocahontas. I wasn't a fan of how TFATF was done either.

If they stick to a similar schedule they are using for 2012, I would imagine 2013 will probably look something like this...

Early:
Aladdin
Cinderella sequels - 2 Pack

Summer:
Aladdin sequels - 2 Pack
Mulan & Mulan 2 - 2 Pack

August:
Robin Hood

Fall:
The Little Mermaid

I'm sure there will be a couple more titles thrown in there, but I feel like, based on the release history of their past, it will look something like this. Mulan and Robin Hood seem as if they get released more quickly than the 7-9 year wait for most of the animated canon.

I'm still not fully convinced that The Little Mermaid is going to be the fall release, I actually think it would be better marketing if they waited til spring for TLM and release Peter Pan in the fall.

Well, last year the theatrical reissue of Lion King preceeded the Blu-Ray release by two weeks, so seeing as Little Mermaid is coming back to theaters in the fall of '13...

...They're likely to use the strategy that WORKED for Lion King and didn't work for Beauty/Beast, which was on disk already.

And a smart decision, too.

The Rescuers collection sounds great and is the right way to go. Unlike most of Disney's garbage cash-in sequels, Rescuers Down Under was a theatrical release of equal standing with the original. The other 2-packs are ill-conceived though. Hopefully the 2-packs will at least get a break from Disney's insane standard pricing.

Muppets was my #1 movie of 2011 but it'll have to wait. $25-30 for a new wide release movie that's not rare or otherwise appreciated is stupidly expensive. And those are Amazon prices - $40-50 MSRP? Nucking futz.

Rescuers is the only Disney release that warrants a double feature release (aside from Fantasia). As Rescuers Down Under was still a great release. Fox and the Hound 2 was awful, as was Pocahontas II. The dual releases are getting really annoying.
