The PQ is pretty good on 300. There's some website with comparissons to show how much sharper the Blu-Ray/HD DVD is compared to the DVD. For the people who think that it's not worth the upgrade from DVD, you may want to look into purchasing a better TV or getting yours calibrated propperly.

I thought, visually, it was great. I know it's blasphemy, but I found I didn't really like the movie.

'Course, it does make you want to go out and get totally buff. But other than that....

I just tried finding that website and thread. The side-by-side comparisons were night and day; especially in the background.

Grain or no grain, the HD version has a much much better picture.

Id go for it. I think the PQ is good. and the sound is great. If you are running with HDMI most likely you can run the uncompressed for this movie...

I don't get what all the fuss is about with the grain ruining a movie. The grain is there to make the film look gritty and dirty like the soldiers in battle. Along with the high shutter speed that was used, the grain adds to the action and the stylized color to give the feel of the Bronze age. I have both the DVD and the Blu-Ray versions. Get the Blu-Ray. Not just the picture quality is worth it but if you have a system that could play back the loss-less audio, it's well worth it.
