Dredd should be good I hope (better than the Punisher movies hopefully). Karl Urban's known for his role as Eomer in Lord of the Rings, and a few other movies, including Star Trek, Priest 3D, Doom and the upcoming Riddick sequel I see.
Hopefully it's in 3D and in theaters by December 2012. This one has Dredd fighting against drug gangs in a futuristic city, where he's a policeman/judge/jury and executioner it's said. |

I wasnt aware of this movie coming out, im definitely excited for it. I too, thought the stallone version was a huge joke. Having Karl Urban in the title role is certainly enough to make me want to see it. Not only was his work in lotr terrific, i thought he was great in the chronicles of riddick, should be a very interesting movie.

I saw a new trailer on TV and it was a lot better than the one I saw in theaters. Dredd 3D being filmed in 3D, I'm looking forward to seeing it. Just wished they called it "Dredd" and left off the "3D" part, leaving it separately for just the poster or box art. If there's a sequel, they wouldn't call it "Dredd 3D 2", at least I hope they wouldn't call it that. Here's hoping the movie does well despite the competition. It's got a tough battle ahead. |

glasses on), cause I'm not sure entirely what to think of the 3d. Their we're more than a handful if strong 3d shots, yet it felt like their we're others that were either flat, or just being clear enough to see depth because of my bad projection suspicions. Anyways, I thought the film itself was excellent. Excellent acting, atmosphere, effects, and soundtrack. The action was pretty fun too. Most of the SLOWMO shots were breathtaking in 3d(plus I found that whole concept of the drug very clever). The film was also hilarious at times with it's rather cruel sense of humor. A thumbs up from me(and for now I'll say thumbs up on the 3d, because my main problem I think was just bad projection, which lately I think has just been because of the theater getting ready to move to their new location about a mile or 2 away) ![]() |

I'm really looking forward to this. Looks somewhat cheesy, but I love Karl Urban and the fact that it's being shot in native. From what I can gather in the 2D trailer, it looks like we're going to be in for a big treat when we see the 3D version.
One thing I have to mention though, am I the only one who immediately thought of the action movie "The Raid: Redemption" (the one that came out this year) when they showed the setup with the big skyscraper? :P lol |

I wanted to see the import "The Raid" earlier this year, but elected for "Lock Out" with Guy Pearce, which was a decent, comical adventure movie. Was the Raid good? I see they were going floor to floor to fight the bad guys. I wonder if Dredd is similar. |
