Agreed on Jaimie Alexander from Thor. She was very Xena-esque (as a line of dialogue mentioned) and could easily fit into people's conception of what an Amazon princess looks like.

Regardless of the outfit being too sexy or insulting feminists, if tv shows can't even do the costumes correct for Smallville or the Green Arrow show, why would they do the costumes correct for the Wonder Woman show?

I think it's just too corny, unless they explicitly went in a campy direction.
Yeah, this was far from perfect casting. Lots of great ideas. Honestly, I feel like they need to go with a relative unknown. I think this is where WB has really dropped the ball when casting their heroes as of late. Both Christoper Reeves and Lynda Carter were relative unknowns when they were cast. It might be smarter for them to do a JLA(U) movie and then do independent movies though.

I'd vote for Emmy Rossum. I don't think they'd go with any of the big names.

She has the look, the age, and the action/acting chops (from what I can tell). While I normally don't like actors being in multiple comic franchises, I would be fine with this as she is not a major character in Thor, nor is she actually a superhero. Or maybe I just want to see her in more roles.

As for Beckinsale, I like her a lot, she is unbelievably gorgeous, and I think she can really act, but I don't think she is right for WW.
I fully support this post

I wanted Beckinsale for Selina Kyle in Dark Knight Rises...but as it turns out, Hathaway did great.

I agree that she could be awesome for it.

Kate Beckinsdale is wrong for the part. Wonder Woman is supposed to be tall, muscular and big boned. She has to have an Amazonian stature and an intimidating physique. Kate Beckinsdale is too thin and too dainty. She has the body of a supermodel. These are the exact same reasons why Halle Berry was miscast as Storm in the X-Men trilogy.

Kate Beckinsdale is also too old to star in a Wonder Woman franchise. Such a role would typically require multiple film commitments spanning a decade. While there's nothing wrong with a 40-year old wonder woman right now, eventually Beckinsdale will be pushing 50 and there will be issues in future sequels. I don't think Wonder Woman has ever been portrayed as a post menopausal woman.

Someone like Gina Carano has the right physique (and age) to star in a Wonder Woman series. Not sure if she has the charisma for it though.

I believe the casting sheet only makes reference to "giant bazongas".

Too bad Catherine Zeta Jones couldn't have played WW circa The Mask Of Zorro...

And they've fiddled around with a Wonder Woman movie so long, the idea of Lynda Carter playing her mother gets dimmer and dimmer each day.

About the only director who could do WW justice would be Joss Whedon as he knows how to write strong female characters (or in this case adapting them for the big screen).

A complete unknown would need to play WW though.

Olivia Munn would be the ultimate Wonder Woman, Rebecca Hall would be very alright as well.
