Maybe late to post this, but this is a funny look at the plot holes (Spoiler alert):

Yep! That still confirms target version for me! I'm loving the side slip. It just looks classy to me. Plus with the little booklet with it, it makes it a unique package instead of just the cookie cutter bluray case and a slipcover! Thanks for posting pics!

A lot of critizised "plot holes" in Prometheus relates to suspension of disbelief.

Philosopher Samuel Taylor Coleridge suggested that if a writer could infuse a "human interest and a semblance of truth" into a fantastic tale, the reader would suspend judgment concerning the implausibility of the narrative.

Many have argued, that it is a "plothole", that they take of their helmets on the planet.

Sci-fi like Prometheus, rests on conditions about the state of knowledge and science in the future.

1) Space travel
2) Computer technology
3) Robotics
4) Methods of resolving age

It is not a plot hole, taking a helmet of. It is suspension of disbelief on the viewers side, to accept that the movie states visually, that a computer gives an OK sign to take of the helmet, thus having screened the atmosphere beforehand. Holloway on his way to take of his helmet BEFORE the computer has given this, states something about Holloway as a human.

Factuality errors will occur though, just try to read about 2001 A Space Odyssey om moviemistakes.com, even though Kubrick was very keen on making everything as correct as possible, with the help of NASA. That didn't stop the movie from becoming the mother of all sci-fi though.

Prometheus has a lot of statements pertaining to science and knowledge in the future and if the viewer insists on compromising this, due to state of the art and knowledge in 2012, then it is the viewers disabilty to provide suspension of disbelief that provides a lot of the "plotholes" and "implausability".

I had a few grudges regarding the narrative and some actors, but I had absolutely no problem about the use of sci-fi in the movie.

Honest Trailers- Prometheus
That basically states alot of the reasons why I'm not even buying this movie. When literally every decision made by every character makes me say "wait, WHAT?" and every line of dialogue makes my eyes roll, it's a sign that even though it's Ridley Scott doing another sci fi film, I'm just not enjoying it. It kind of breaks my heart I have no urge to buy this. I saw it twice and liked it less with the 2nd viewing. It's a shame as the blu-ray sounds like an awesome disc. I just can't get passed the awful, nonsensical script. Why they hired Damon Lindelof for this is baffling.

Thank God/engineer that you had no problem with the use of sci-fi in the movie.... That's because the whole film IS sci-fi! Nice post, but "off" has two f's!

4.0 is too generous a score for the movie. It's a 3.0 at best.

I don't think the film has many plot holes, it's just a weak story very badly told with some awfully contrived scenes. I was also very aware of the video noise in the dark scenes when I saw it at the theater - you couldn't help but notice it! Scott should certainly have stuck with 35mm for this one.

I anticipated a bluray.com review of 3 to a 3.5 myself but for ME the film is a 3.5 to a 4.

I enjoyed it quite a bit and while everyone is entitled to their opinion I'm a firm believer that some of the people that didnt enjoy the film WERE indeed expecting some sort of direct prequel to Alien and when they got something completely different, they had a tough time making sense of what they were watching...and some of the bad writing (and there is some) didn't help either. I still enjoyed it though. For all its shortcomings it makes up for quite a few of them with some fantastic imagery and thought provoking ideas.

The review begins with a contradicted statement- Ridley Scott's flawed-but-magnificent return to sci-fi. How possibly can a movie be flawed, and magnificent at the same time? It's either one or the other. I've realized, some reviewers are partial to highly anticipated, overrated big budget films made by popular A list directors, whether if the movie is truly bad or not, they'll give it a good review regardless.

I agree. The movie is flawed but the direct comparisons to Alien was a make or break, hence there not being a lot of middle ground for just thinking the film was ok. I like to think of it as its own story, with its own characters, occurring within the same universe as Alien. Viewing it as a stand alone series helped me appareciate it more.

You would think it would be smack in the middle 2.5/5. Love it or hate it. I love it. Got me 3 times in the movies.

Can't wait to unwrap it tomorrow. Will send the wife to target since she gets work done earlier then me.

When the idea for a prequel was announced, I remember reading that it would be a direct prequel to Alien but then it changed and it was confirmed that it would NOT be direct prequel to Alien but take place in the same universe and contain the same "DNA" as the Alien films.

At first, this REALLY pissed me off. I couldn't help but say to myself "WHY go this route?!?...it makes no sense!" but the more I read about it, the more interesting the idea became. In other words, my mind changed completely and now I was thinking that this really is the better way to go. Why do something as rinse and repeat as having xenomorphs running around again, eggs and facehuggers all over again, why tell what very well could have been the same story all over again only this time with a "origin story" of sorts. I kinda like how they went almost completely off the beaten path and made something different. Something tells me if this film had gone how it was originally intended, we'd have a MUCH weaker film on our hands. Ridley made the right choice, despite what the haters say.

So, the company had received the LV-426 derelict message before the Nostromo was redirected; another strong tie-in to Alien:

"The Peter Weyland Files (1080p, 18:57): A collection of internet promo videos, presented within a dossier of sorts, with notes from Weyland, the most revealing of which suggests that Weyland's scientists detected a signal coming from LV-426—the moon from the first Alien film—and that Weyland considered it a secondary objective."
