Why are dvds included in almost all Blu-ray releases?

You don't have a blu-ray in the Car?

Personally I would prefer they NOT include the DVD and save us a few bucks. As it is they are hurting their sales as my DVD's, unless it has some exclusive on it, just goes out again to someone else.
