Look at Amazon. They always list the SRP and are able to slap a giant "% OFF" graphic on top of the item image. It's consumer psychological warfare! The SRP is there to make us think we are always getting a deal even when the actual purchase price is still high. This is the exact reason that I don't even bother looking at ANYTHING other than the price I am actually having to pay at that particular moment.
