I noticed that Amazon put Blu-ray versions of Top Gun, Face Off, and Blades of Glory up, but it says they're unavailable

That's because they haven't received the "ok" from Paramount to begin soliciting preorders.

So it looks like these are the catalog titles that were made but were never sold due to the bribe.

The way I see it... Bee Movie is of no interest to me, and I can wait for their titles honestly. They are the ones that will be losing money for thinking their contract with Toshiba is still valid. Idiots probably never read the fine print or escape clause. But I am fine with not watching their stuff, I have Pixar.
And when they ever get around to releasing on Blu (be it sooner or later) I will look at them, but I can't promise to buy them.

i call crap on bee movie, i used to work walmart electronics while in college a year ago and we would get our movies in no earlier than a week to 2 weeks (pushing it just because of shortage of storage space) amd your claiming as they got something not even announced yet 3 weeks before the dvd release date....sounds fishy. they ship stuff only a week before release date to keep from hitting floor space

oh, well I have access to purchase movies wholesale, and on that vendors site the only HD version of BEE MOVIE is the HDDVD version, which has been there for a while, since it was announced.
With knowing that, without evidence I dont think the claim is trueand I dont wanna be king of WM either ......kinda lame

Well if you read Bill Hunt's post for today, he hints that it may actually be true.

From The Digital Bits:

Quote:
Very reliable sources are telling us that DreamWorks is currently authoring and replicating multiple new titles on the Blu-ray format for release in the coming months, including Bee Movie. They're also working on an official announcement of Blu-ray support. So why the new comments from Katzenberg? Well, our sources are hinting that as of the day Toshiba threw in the towel, DreamWorks and Paramount hadn't yet been paid the full $150 million they were promised for abandoning Blu-ray and supporting HD-DVD exclusively (it's generally standard practice in a deal like this for payments to be made in installments over the life of the deal, as various contractual milestones are reached). Both studios are reportedly negotiating with Toshiba as to just how much of the still unpaid amount they'll receive for having remained loyal to the end. That's why neither studio has officially announced new Blu-ray titles yet, and that's why Katzenberg is still talking about DreamWorks' loyalty to Toshiba. Having taken a big PR hit with Blu-ray fans for abandoning the format last year, DreamWorks and Paramount want to at least get as much of the promised payment from Toshiba too. As soon as this issue is sorted out however - and our sources say all parties are close to agreeing on a final amount - you'll see both Paramount and DreamWorks start announcing new Blu-ray titles.
