If the trend continues, look for Pixar to release one catalog title with each new release. So, WALL-E will be hitting Blu-ray this fall, and Nemo will probably be on the same day.

Nemo was originally scheduled for Spring, but was delayed until fall. I think this was due to them only wanting to do one catalog release a year, instead of two.

I can't wait for the scene where Darla taps on the glass in lossless audio.

Just for S&G, let's try to figure out a timeline for the Pixar Library. Keep in mind, this is only my guess:

2007
Cars (2006)
Ratatouille (2007)

2008
Finding Nemo (2003)
Wall-E (2008)

*Both films directed by Andrew Stanton

2009
Monsters Inc. (2001)
Up (2009)

*Both films directed by Pete Docter

2010
Toy Story (1995)
Toy Story 2 (1999)
Toy Story 3 (2010)

Anything beyond that is only a shot in the dark, but only The Incredibles and A Bug's Life would be left in the library at that point, so even one catalog title a year would have the entire Pixar library on Blu-ray by 2012. Not too shabby!

As good of a guess as any. Although, if there is any growth in the demand for BD, they may accelerate the process.

I wonder if it's a matter of resources for Pixar?

It is sad that it will take that long for all of their titles to hit on BD. I think we would all agree that any one of them would be among the best selling titles to date. I'd much prefer two a year plus the new release.

At least I know that they will be amazing and done to best level of quality possible. I'd rather wait for the best.

By the end of 2008 Pixar will have made 9 feature films and 4 of them will be on BD (assuming WALL-E is out for the holidays). I'd like to get them faster too, but we're just too early in the format's cycle.

i remember watching the incredibles on hd broadcast tv like a year ago and it looked stellar. i dont know what the resolution was of the broadcast, but max it can only be 1080i......so i can only imagine how amazing it would look on 1080p blu ray.

my oh my.

nemo is another one im pumped for.
