Frankly, I'm not qualified to see the difference. But again it looks very filmic, which had me believe it is a HD scan of a negative. But I may be proved wrong. I think it looks a lot better than a DVD - minus the print damage.

Well, it does sound quite promising! I guess the only other video question I have is how good is the contrast? The UK/Australian DVD's contrast was a pinch "blown out"/too bright in the lighter areas, causing detail to get washed out.
