Good luck to anyone wanting to buy it, I'd advise you to buy it from a seller who can confirm they have it in stock because I think there's a 3 months shipping estimate from amazon.com and .co.uk only has it through sellers and the listed price is many times the original rrp.

^^^Apparently this is going to be reprinted in April of this year.

does anyone have the UK release of "Castle of Cagliostro" by Studio Canal? Are the english subtitles imposed in the japanese version?

I'm aware of that, but considering that it is a Miyazaki movie I thought I could find the answer to my question here without bothering you too much...

My question is "are the subtitles imposed when you select the japanese language in the UK edition" ?

It was a blind buy for me, and I was pleasantly surprised.

I got this for Christmas and it's great. I don't know if the pic really does it justice, but the set is HUGE. It's an absolutely amazing value at under $40.

And this will be reprinted, right? I really want it, but at $100 minimum it's just too much. If I could get it at $40 or less I'd jump on it no questions asked!

I didn't realize it wasn't readily available at Amazon when I posted above. I'm surprised it went OOP so quickly. It is showing up at Barnes and Noble for $35, though it says it's Temp OOS.

Yes, but as it has been written before, this movie is not a Studio Ghibli film, so maybe nobody is going to answer me exactly as it's happening here, and they're going to reply to me the way you do (and YES, I posted the same question in the topic related to the movie itself, and I have received no answer either)

besides, I've seen your collection and I noticed that you have the movie, do you have the possibility to answer to my question, please? It was not my intention to write 3 off-topic posts about it, I thought 1 post would have been enough.

(I do not write very much in this forum, english is not my native tongue, but I'm here since 1 year and a half, as you can easily see, and I'm not a troll of any sort, I am just a ordinary italian 35yo folk the lives in Paris, France... in case that was the reason why I deserve all this secrecy and lack of reception)

No the subtitles are not imposed, you can watch it in Japanese or English without any subs. Just checked.

Yeah, and it says back in stock April 26th, so perhaps that's when the new printing is being released. I'll hold off and see what happens

Everything was in mint condition too despite YesAsia sending my Howl's replacement without a cardboard box (just wrapped in tons of bubble wrap). I think it's possible they do try to resell damaged returns (I'm not positive, but I just fail to see how the copy they originally sent me wasn't damaged prior to shipping; and I did ask them to check for damage before shipping).

Anyway, all my Japanese digipacks are in mint condition finally.

I also just watched my Japanese dvd of Gauche the Cellist last night. Very charming film (especially if you enjoy classical music)
Hopefully, one day, it'll be cleaned up and released on blu-ray.
