Tis a Netflix production, though I expected they'd have given themselves a longer exclusivity window. Glad they're releasing it, though. Bodes well for the other Netflix productions ( quite looking forward to Hemlock Grove ).

Maybe it doesn't bode so well.

I wonder how well it initial release was picked up on Netflix... does anybody have the figures?

It could be that things have trailed off so quickly, they figure... best get it out on disk.

A second series has already been confirmed, that's all I care about for now

They're refusing to release figures - they hardly release figures for anything though - but they've said they're very pleased with how it has done. I agree that it must have trailed off though, everyone I know who watched it did so upon its first release. It'll of course still pick up viewers along the way but it had its boom.

Really thought the blu-ray would come closer to the second season though - thus preserving Netflix's exclusivity for a longer period whilst simultaneously promoting the second season. Guess Sony are in charge of the release and want it out while there's still buzz about the series.

I feel with Netflix as they put it all up in one go, most people would have watched all the episodes in a few days very close to its 1st February release.

Here are some "figures". From reading various interviews with different Netflix people, they don't seem to care about viewing figures, mainly because they don't have adverts to force on people. What they are after is subscribers, and those figures they do release ( sure they're due soon ). Be interesting to see the subscriber figures with the exclusive content they've been announcing....

Can't wait for Hemlock Grove, Orange Is The New Black, and Sens8 sounds intriguing. I'm hoping Amazon are going to give LOVEFiLM the AmazonInstant exclusives ( they've just announced a TV series based on Zombieland ).
