Default How do people pronounce these words?

How do people pronounce these words?

Words are garage ,police ,storage ,mirage.

http://www.thefreedictionary.com/garage
http://www.thefreedictionary.com/police

People in Midwest and west coast of the US pronounce softer where people in east coast and southern states pronounce harder.

People in Midwest and west coast of the US pronounce softer Ga-rah-ge, Stor-rah-ge, Mir-rah-ge" where the east coast and southern states is harder Ga-ridge , Stor-ridge , Mir-ridge ?

Northerners/Westerners in the US to say " puh-LEESSE" and "in-SYOOR-ints" as opposed to the Southern pronunciations "poh-lice" and "IN-syorr-ints"

People in east coast and southern states say like Ga-ridge .There Audio clip on that page.

I'm sorry but the female who said she was from Texas is not. She might be living in Dallas but she does not speak like she grew up there at all. Texas is a LARGE state and accents will vary but native born Texans still share a lot of root words.

In American English the vowel I has a short sound (hit, slip, trick) and a long sound ( like, fight, spice), but in the Piedmont accents there is a third sound, a variant of the long I which Northerners are unable to produce and often perceive as sounding like "ah."

People in non south can only pronounce it in mouth ending in words ending in a "T" or CE combination words are sight, trite, plight, might or slice which receive a closed mouth ending.

Words with no closed mouth ending with words ending in a "T" or CE combination northerners are for the most part unable to pronounce.

Examples would be sigh, try, ply, my, size.
