Default Star Ocean 4 Trailer released

http://www.ps3fanboy.com/2008/03/31/...attles-galore/

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iraCEDfJoXI

"Tri-ace has an interesting way of crafting games...
...this is the trailer for Star Ocean 4 that came on a DVD with Japanese pre-orders of the PSP remakes of the first and second titles. The audio sounds a little messed up, as a warning. It looks interesting, though gameplay footage is still nonexistent, as is a console announcement. Perhaps Tri-ace will use this game to break into a wider market. Perhaps not. Enjoy!"

We can only hope enjoy the cgi... its great.

Since the last two have been playstation exclusives and the 2nd story heading for psp, I think its safe to say for playstation but we shall see.

---update---

Characters introduced

--New Magazine Scan showing off game--

From what I've heard, these games are fantastic, I found Star Ocean 3 for cheap, is it any good?

IT is except what is called in that game the biggest plot twist ever to grace a video game.

You will either get upset or laugh really hard and accept it.

Its a sci fi fantasy, following a young man called fayt, as he is visiting
a resort planet with his parents, and a childhood friend who happens
to have a crush on fayt, *Sophie*...

Unfortunately a set of events that could only be considered tragic start to unfold, fayt will find himself traveling to multiple planets in a attempt to try
to make it home, he we will meet many new friends of multple races and
creed.

I really enjoyed SO3. Great story, great gameplay. It's one of the more difficult RPGs I've played, especially on Galaxy/4D - also a nice change.

Some of the battle trophies are damn near impossible to achieve, and the fact that you can't port this part of your save file to another card or say, hard drive, is complete BS.

I enjoyed it, too my first play thought I did not have enough space for battle trophy's so that was all lost, when I went to the ps3 I started over again, and unfortunately lent it to some of my rpg loving friends.

Well count me in as well, love Star Ocean though I never finished 3(yet). I hope SE brings the 2 PSP remakes over here that would be slick. Like you all I hope this one comes to PS3 but with it's heavy space theme Star Ocean may seem a better fit for 360 to Square (I hope not,.....stupid 360)

I still consider part 2 one of the best RPG's I've ever played outright.

Part 3 was a mixed bag for me so I'm hoping part 4 roars through all the way.

I honestly tried playing one of these (can't remember which) and didn't get very far. It was very different to me but I think the problem is that my sister and brother got me 10 games one year... I had no time to play them all and I ended up not finishing any of them! lol

i will look up that old game again, and look into this one too. It looks cool but with so little time on my hands anymore I don't know if I will find the time to play.

2 Was a master piece hands down.. 3 had some things it, that have never been seen in a rpg, such as a dynamic economy, with new items being added to stores based on new items being invented and created by the player and other inventors.. Which in ways creates a dynamic stores, which is a excellent idea.

In ways I liked the original item creation from 1 and 2 they were cheaper on the wallet, what 3 did was try to turn it into a assembly line, which in ways is better but is not good on the old wallet.

I would also like to say I really enjoyed the vs mode in 3.

Default New Star Ocean 4 Scans

http://www.ps3fanboy.com/2008/04/02/...acter-artwork/

"If you've watched the Star Ocean 4 trailer posted last Monday, perhaps you were a little annoyed seeing the main characters' faces purposefully cropped out of the picture. If that's the case, then be happy for today's Famitsu scans; they are equally pretty and most of all crop-free. The scans reveal character artwork for protagonists Edge Maverick and Reimi Saionji.

Aside from that, however, nothing else major has been revealed about this Star Ocean prequel. We do get a brief look at the in-game graphics though. As far as we can tell, the game is shaping up nicely. See the other scans at Gamersyde".

That looks Great... im even more excited.

Part 2 is forever one of my 10 favorite games of all time. I'm hoping that this installment is more akin to 2 than 3. Not only that, I'd love to see it surpass 2. Yes, I know, high hopes, but one can always dream

Of course, The cast in there own right were different and unique, the way they reacted to each other, some of the events really let you look into how the characters really got along.

The story was very good, um it had some good old humor, but in a sense it was solid, one more thing did you know the 2nd one had a anime that eventually made it stateside.

Geneon Star Ocean

Thought some of yall hard core star ocean 2 fans would enjoy the link.

"Don't get us wrong -- we know Tri-Ace and Square Enix haven't listed a console for Star Ocean 4 yet, but seriously, do you think this game will be a Wii exclusive? If you thought it possible, this new magazine scan might change your mind. We're taking a leap of faith assuming this game will come to the PS3 (exclusive or not), but since all the others have ... heck, all other Tri-Ace games have, it's not a very big leap.

Now we finally see the main character, previously hidden in all those trailers. He's not very attractive and is basically a Fayt clone with blond hair. They look different enough, but it's just not a big "evolution" between protagonists. We're not being picky -- the environments in the scan are brilliant looking. We wish the view outside of our windows looked that nice."

I loved 3. I played 2 but I can't really remember it for some reason...
I must have been playing a lot of different games around the same time.

Well everything past the first one and the gbc version has been exclusive.

But I like these visuals... I hope to see them continue.

In true Square Enix fashion...an awesome cinematic trailer to tease all into oblivion.

It seems not many people are mentioning the first Star Ocean that came out, am I the only one who remembers playing that? It was a little mediocre but I think got lots of hype because of the new battle system at that time. I don't recall playing any of the ones after that, are they really worth it?
