Also a couple of good TV podcasts:

A Cast of Kings (Game of Thrones) & The Ones Who Knock (Breaking Bad); Both hosted by David Chen (/Filmcast) & Joanna Robinson (Pajiba.com). Both follow the same structure discussing each week's episode (Spoiler free up to the current episode) in-depth and discussing the show in general. Both shows are currently my favorite two on TV, and these podcasts are enjoyable and help with my appreciation of the shows. If you are a fan of either, they are both worth checking out.

I love Game of Thrones.

Worth checking out the podcast, especially with GoT. He hasn't read the book, but she has, so it's a nice blend of knowledge. I haven't read the books, so it's good to hear more about certain characters & scenes that differ in the books. Every week there is something I miss that the podcast brings up.

I've recently been getting into movie podcasts and the ones I follow the most are:

The Film Vault
The Long and Late Movie Show
/Filmcast
Filmspotting
Operation Kino
Beer Me a Movie's Podcast
(the hosts introduce themselves along with what beer they're drinking that week. Great for BevMo/Total Wine connoisseurs.)

The first two and the last break up their reviews of what each has seen the previous week with fun games (betting on RT scores, weekend grosses, trivia, etc). These breathe new life into a podcast, which I enjoy. Hope you give them a try! All are on iTunes and FREE!

Radio Five's show with Mark Kermode is great. I'd recommend that to anyone. Also, not as academic, but Peter Biskind's "Easy Riders, Raging Bulls" is a revelation for anybody interested in the New Hollywood movement of the early '70s and the directors at its core.

+1

It's on BBC website and the new podcast usually goes up on Friday evenings.

It makes bad movies bearable when he goes off on one of his rants, my favourite one being The Phantom Menace 3D. His co-host Simon Mayo doesn't do as much but Kermode rocks!
