PS3 and Wii are not the same product. Their markets overlap, but they are not the same. Buy a Wii (or PC) to play games. Buy a PS3 as a bluray player that can play some games.

Old titles on the shelf do not move units. The overwhelming majority of sales in any given week are fairly new releases. New releases on the PS3 this year and the upcoming pipeline is stronger than Wii by far and at least as strong, if not slightly stronger, than the 360.

If you want to be filled with awe by the total # of titles in the catalog then go hang out at GameStop and stare at the PS2 wall. You might annoy the cashier but it's free.

Also if your argument is that the Wii has better and more games, that's just stupid. Wii is notorious for lack of pipeline.

The Wii does cost more than a $249 price tag. If you look on the secondary market, the Wii sells for more than retail.

The majority of the posts weren't about the Wii not being #1. It's responding to the people who think their individual experience (who would've thought a bunch of ppl on a blu ray forum prefer PS3?!?) defines the product and its worth.

I will take this lineup over anything the Wii can throw at it. Not all of these games are for everybody, but there is no way you can come up with a Wii line up with that many games which will not have several which are extremely marginal.

If you start including Virtual Console games in, then you have to include PS2 games as well...and unless you are an extreme Zelda/Mario/Metroid fanatic the PS2 will win that battle.

I've personally spent more time playing Rock Band than I have on all Wii games I own combined. Take that as you will.

Am I the only one to find it humorous that it's not about PS3 vs 360 anymore.

But it's about the PS3 vs the Wii.

The Wii which arguably has been the only serious competition that the PS3 has EVER had {sorry 360 fans} in the worldwide {as in outside the North American market} game console markets.

I use my PS3 to play Blurays because there are so few PS3 games out there that, in my opinion, are worth playing. Ratchet and Clank? That's about it.

Well, I would mention that all those games look better and the FPS certainly play better (ty offset analog stick and proper triggers) on the 360, but this is Wii vs PS3.

I play all my FPS on PC because the controls are superior and the online support, as well as competition, is typically superior. I already played a "hide and shoot" game like Uncharted when it came to 360 in the form of Gears of War.

Anyway, your post kinda misses the whole point- your individual experience does not define a product. Nor does mine. It is up to the individual to address how the product serves his or her needs and then to spend according to that. It is unfortunate that your single experience has not served you well. It has for many others.

This is patent bull as well. Assassin's Creed, the Tom Clancy games, Devil May Cry 4, and Call of Duty 4 are at best a wash. Oblivion looks better on PS3. So does Condemned 2.

Offset sticks somehow make a game better? Welcome to the wide world of opinion.

In addition, in Call of Duty 4s case, less people online is an advantage, because the games have less lag, yet there are still plenty of people to play against.

But hey, why bother to let facts stand in the way of a blanket anti-Sony propaganda?
