Undecided. I am sure the documentary is informative with gorgeous imagery. I just don't know how often I'd reach for it on the shelf and whether it lends itself to repeat viewing--my criteria for adding something to my library. It's not like I'd have some buddies over for some beers or a bottle of zin and watch this thing, and even less likely I'd put this on and cuddle up with a girlfriend in front of the plasma. And after a hard day's work I'd much rather use my PS3 for Fight Night round 3 than watch a documentary. That said, I may order it anyway.

Three hours every Sunday on Discovery and DiscoveryHD. This Sunday is the last one. Then the BD comes out.

I disagree, IF anything...I could watch something like this...far more than I could say "Identity" or "The pursuit of happiness"...Documentaries require limited attention and you can drop off and pick up wherever & whenever you want. With 11 1/2 hours of HD content, it would be difficult to get "bored" of this IMO.

Funny me and my buddy were bored watching tv the otherday...we flip to discovery channel and PE was on. He says "ahh leave it here" we were amazed watching a polar bear go at it with a Walrus and then wacthing Sharks jump 6 feet out of water after seals, and nobody even hinted at changing the channel...we were captivated.

I know my gf would enjoy something like this, vs. say...
The Terminator. Women like "mother nature" too, and enjoy learning something, and can appreciate spectacular High Def content.

I guess differen't stroked for differen't folks. To me, I view gaming as a chore of sorts. And after a long day at work I would much rather veg out watching this, than stress out on the complexity of some of these games when I've been stressing out all day at work.

With that said....go buy it =)

Ok, you convinced me! No doubt it is a great way to support the blu-ray cause and get some great viewing material at the same time. I just hope it doesn't gather dust as more of my favorites are released on BD.

I pre-ordered from Amazon a couple of weeks ago after watching one episode on Discovery HD. Amazing picture and Amazon has a better price than anyplace that I have locally here to buy from.

I'm watching it in HD on TV now. It's great series but not something I'd watch again.
