When I moved to college, I burned all 300 of my DVDs and brought the burned copies with me in a CD booklet thingy. That way, no worries about people losing or ruining my movies and no storage problems.

Of course, this was 2005 and blank CDs were cheap, I don't know how much blank BDs are though...

BD-25s run about $1 a piece while BD-50s run about $3.50 a piece.

My old DVD's ended up being scattered to the winds in my dorm room time. I wouldnt suggest a cd book because all of them would be in one easy to steal loaction.

dang that is a good point. Unless I lock it in my "lock box". But that may be a hassle after awhile.

I am going to College in the fall too and I don't plan on bringing any Blu-ray's with me for two main reasons:

1. I don't want them to be stolen.
2. I am going to a College around 24 hours away from where I am living right now.

I will probably buy some while I am there, but I will hide them.

The dorm building that I am living in has a Movie Lounge which looks really nice, so that might be handy.

During my college years I brought a large part of my DVD (and later, Blu-ray) collection along with me in boxes. I wouldn't recommend this, as the cases will begin to get scuffed up after hauling them back and forth a few times. The case you're looking at is a good option, as I used something similar to bring my CDs along with me.

Yah, I'm kind of leaning toward this. I may get a smaller one though, I don't need to bring 200 movies with me lol

The only cases I may bring are for boxsets (Harry Potter and Die Hard) and tv seasons.

I love the cases, but I wouldn't have room for them. Do they scratch easy in these "binders"?.

Honestly, in my group of friends, I'm the one of two people who actually collects movies, and I'm definitely the only one who collects Blu-Rays. Nobody borrows my movies because I'm the only person who has a Blu-Ray player.

That, and I live in an on-campus apartment, so I keep all my stuff locked in my room.

My friends also were made aware that I am "anal" about them.

The school I went to, at the front desk they offered DVD rentals so I never had to worry about people asking to borrow mine. I also only brought the top 5 from my collection, because I also bought more as the semesters went on and frankly, I found myself busy too.

What I'm saying is, bring your top 5 movies. Watch how the people you are. Chances are, as a Freshman, people will be more worried about drinking and being out of the dorms than actually watching movies. AND LOCK YOUR DOOR ALWAYS.

Good luck in college. Remember: partying is fun, but studying is important. If you were able to breeze through high school, you'll be in for a shock! And when/if you watch one of your movies, be sure to invite everyone. It's a great way to socialize.
This. College is a LEAP from high school, not a baby step.
