If it is done, get that out to the public. Now. If nothing else, release a version now that reverts to the last version.

If they don't say anything they are leaving you hanging and are unhappy, now if they say something with an explanation it makes you unhappy. Some people you can never please.

I would rather they come public with an expected due date than leave me hanging out to dry with no explanation whatsoever.
