Wouldn't shock me one bit since Disney did it with the Pixar films, that they re-release Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Thor, and Captain America in 3D on BD with Disney packaging and everything else that comes with buying movies from Disney.

Well, if they do I hope they re-release the 2 disc edition of Iron Man...

Not surprising really, it was only a matter of time. Disney would definitely have wanted to eventually bring the money maker of marvel fully under their control.

I wounded if this will have any effect on the upcoming Steelbooks for Captain America and Thor for Zavvi. Edit: never mind, I missed the part about existing Paramount contracts being fulfilled.

Doubtful. If it's not on the disc with the film, Disney's not going to produce a second disc these days.

Don't be surprised if the special features on Iron Man 3 are light and the majority of them are housed on the second screen app for the film. That's just how Disney rolls now.

I could be wrong, but that just might be for Domestic releases. Zavvi being in the UK wouldn't be affected? Or even if it was world wide, as long as they licensed the title they could probably do the same thing. They have already released Aladdin, with TLM & JB on the way.

Oh boy, now Disney can re-release all the Marvel CU movies with their blue/gold border packaging and no extras until the end of time!

No Incredible Hulk then it seems?

I guess Disney couldn't reach a deal with Universal for Hulk?

Could be that negotiations with them are still ongoing.

If everything Marvel has licensed to other studios is a 5 year window, then Marvel can just wait until the end of the year. The last film was 2008, so the rights should expire this year. Marvel will not have to pay, unless Universal rushes a film into production.

I think at this point Universal doesn't care. They haven't done very well, financially, with the Hulk films anyways. (No one, including Marvel, really knows what to do with the Hulk for an individual movie.)

Universal can't produce a Hulk film, they only have distribution rights for The Incredible Hulk.

I think that only applies to rights for new movies, not distribution rights for old movies (meaning if they don't make another Hulk movie in time, that means they can't make anymore Hulk movies, but they still own distribution rights to the one they already made)

If/When Marvel launches an individual Hulk movie on their own, I'm sure Universal will take whatever they will give them. Paramount had the leverage of owning the successful Marvel films, fortunately timed for sequels. Universal? I don't think they can repackage the films any more ways at this point. The Comic Tins is pretty much the end of it.

I'm hoping for some kind of Iron Man "ultimate" set (3 films) that has the content of that second disc, since I haven't picked up any of the IM films yet and wanted to get that 2nd disc. I mean, why not? Iron Man 4 ain't coming anytime soon and Robert Downey Jr. only signed on for Avengers 2 & 3.

Amazon has 09/24/2013 street dates for these movies.

I wonder if Disney will print new cover art/slipcovers for these?

I bought the suitcase, I'm not rebuying these without a decent excuse...like new extras or easter eggs of RDJ naked and dancing while wearing a sombrero.

I don't care what the price would be, but I would pay top dollar for that.
